    Then the panel tackles the stories proving that almost everything really is getting worse on purpose: declining confidence in capitalism, government-created market distortions, an absurdly complicated tax system, another Republican immigration-amnesty fight, and the political rise of Zohran Mamdani, AOC, and the Democratic Socialists.

    The crew also discusses California’s astonishing homelessness spending, Miss Rachel’s political contributions, Francesca Hong’s response to a fatal Madison police shooting, Hawaii’s threat to defy the Supreme Court, the Trump administration’s use of the long-dormant Alien Terrorist Removal Court, and the latest deeply undignified chapter in the Tate brothers saga.

    Rick Robinson is joined by Amy Curtis, Brad Slager, and BZ for a lively Weekend News Roundup covering a news cycle that somehow managed to combine election security, collapsing campaigns, media censorship, foreign policy, and more political self-destruction than one Friday should reasonably contain.

    The panel begins with the implosion of Graham Platner’s Maine Senate campaign, the allegations and political calculations that finally pushed Democrats to abandon him, and the increasingly bizarre field forming around the race to challenge Sen. Susan Collins. The conversation expands into the Democratic Party’s growing socialist wing, the divide between establishment Democrats and activist candidates, and why the party repeatedly tolerates deeply flawed nominees until the polling becomes impossible to ignore.

    The group also reacts to President Trump’s election-security address and the major networks’ refusal to carry it live on their primary platforms. They examine China’s reported interest in American elections, the importance of voter identification and auditable results, and the hypocrisy of media outlets dismissing documents and claims before allowing viewers to hear them. Even Olive Garden’s pasta pass somehow manages to become a stronger model for identity verification than parts of the American election system.

    From there, the panel turns to Iran, the limits of negotiation with the regime, growing unrest among the Iranian population, and whether the United States has finally accepted that endless off-ramps will not solve the problem. They also debate JD Vance’s recent comments, Marco Rubio’s growing stature as a possible 2028 contender, and the late Lindsey Graham’s complicated political and personal legacy.

    The roundup closes with Wisconsin Democrats descending into campaign chaos, candidates dropping out, money disappearing, and Republicans appearing increasingly well-positioned for the governor’s race.

    It is politics, media criticism, foreign policy, election integrity, campaign disasters, and enough Friday humor to make the collapse of Western civilization slightly easier to watch.
