  • The Architecture of Identity: A Yogic Perspective
    2026/10/21

You have a personality. A history. A fairly convincing explanation of why certain things are simply “not you.”

But how did all of that become you?

In this very first episode of The Visionary Human, we’re going down a rabbit hole that deserves more of our attention: the architecture of identity.

Yoga has quite a lot to say about the “me” running your life. We’ll explore the three malas—the veils described in Kashmir Shaivism—and samskaras, the impressions that become familiar patterns of thought, feeling, and response.

The Sanskrit may be unfamiliar. The experience probably isn’t: something feels missing, an old reaction takes over, and yesterday somehow gets to write today’s script.

How much of what you call “who I am” is simply what has become familiar?

Come curious. You may leave a little less certain about your limitations.
