We're two Midwestern therapists that tell it like it is. Our podcast focuses on topics we find interesting, while tying it back to mental health and our own clinical experience. We know therapy can be intimidating and scary, but it doesn't have to be. We know it's important to show up authentically in order to build the strongest relationships with our clients. And this podcast is no different. We hope you learn something new while we keep it real and totally unfiltered.

ADHD is one of those hot topics on social media that is often trending but misunderstood. As therapists who see clients with ADHD regularly, and therapists with our own diagnoses, we hope this episode is helpful in identifying what ADHD is and how you might see this showing up in yourself or the people in your life. And as ADHD impacts nearly every part of functioning, there are so many trailheads to navigate. We will be covering more of these in future episodes, but if you have any particular interests or questions related to ADHD, send us a message! We'd love to hear from you!

    2026/02/15

In this episode, we're joined by Katrina Serfling, LMHC, NCC, EMDR certified consultant, and supervisor and owner of Human to Human Counseling in Des Moines, IA. Katrina shares her perspective on EMDR, how it's used by therapists, her work with clients, and some personal anecdotes. While EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) has risen in popularity in the past decade, there's good reason for that.
