We want to hear from you!

Hook, Superman, 9/11, and the weird way pop culture becomes a mirror for real life.Pete and Chris start with childhood nostalgia and end up somewhere much bigger - how stories shape us, why some heroes still matter, and why the world feels so different when you look at it as a parent, a fan, or someone who lived through history changing in real time. They break down the enduring magic of Hook and Peter Pan, the difference between classic characters and lazy cash-grab continuations, and why expanding a universe only works when it still feels true to the original. From there, the conversation jumps into DC’s new era, the tone shift in Lanterns, and what James Gunn seems to be building across Superman, Green Lantern, Clayface, and beyond. You'll also hear sharp, funny takes on:

• Why Hook hits differently when you’re older
• The difference between nostalgia and actual storytelling
• What Lanterns gets right about a gritty superhero drama
• Why DC works best when it treats each corner of the universe like its own genre
• The difference between inspiration, satire, and people who completely miss the point

Then the episode turns personal. Pete and Chris reflect on where they were on 9/11, how that day changed the country, and why its impact still matters 25 years later. They talk about memory, loss, first responders, and the uneasy realization that even the most ordinary day can become part of history.Pete and Chris bring their full unfiltered style to every tangent, from comic-book canon to political absurdity to the small human moments that make the whole conversation feel alive. Chris is the steady counterpoint with sharp observations and perspective, while Pete brings the chaos, the jokes, and the emotional detours that make the episode feel like a real conversation instead of a polished performance.Perfect for listeners who love pop culture, superhero world-building, dad-level nostalgia, and conversations that can go from Hook to 9/11 to the future of DC without losing the thread. If you want smart, funny, and unexpectedly thoughtful, this one delivers.
