The Underdawgs Voice Podcast with Coach Que was built for the underdawgs — the athletes fighting every day to be seen, grow through pressure, and keep going when confidence gets tested. Through real stories, honest conversations, and coaching insight, Coach Que helps parents of middle and high school athletes understand pressure, mindset, mistakes, and what their athlete is really experiencing in games and beyond. Coach Que believes two things for sure: Pressure reveals training, and every underdawg has their day.Coach Que

  • When You Make the Big Play and Still Lose | Kennedy Parker
    2026/10/14

Kennedy Parker made the shot her team needed. The other team still won.

The Salem High School freshman joins Coach Que on the Underdawgs Voice Podcast to revisit the three that tied the game with about 20 seconds left, the other team’s game-winner, and why she kept her head up when the result hurt. She shares how that response developed and what she wants other athletes to remember after a loss.

Kennedy also opens up about the “what ifs” that show up under pressure and the roughly 20 seconds she says it can take to get herself back. Coach Que challenges that recovery window, and Kennedy names the real job behind next play: get back on defense.

For parents, the conversation explores when Kennedy wants to talk after a tough game, why listening helps, and how immediate criticism can make the moment harder. Plus, the Fun Fire Round brings out her defensive preferences, teammate trust, and Lisa Leslie pick.

  • When Trying to Lead Makes You Play Tight
    2026/10/07

What happens when being a leader starts feeling like everything is on you?

Addison Treppa joins Coach Que on the Underdawgs Voice Podcast to talk about the weight of responsibility—and what playing tight actually looked like. From passing up wide-open shots to doubting herself before the game even started, Addison opens up about a time when making a mistake felt like the end of the world.

As the conversation explores her move from role player to point guard, Addison shares the pressure of being someone her teammates depended on, trying to fix things outside her control, and learning where her responsibility ended.

She also describes what it felt like to play loose, smile on the court, and “fall back in love” with basketball.

For parents, this conversation raises a question: Is your athlete leading—or starting to believe they have to carry everything?

Plus, Addison talks about responding after mistakes, why a bad game doesn’t make you a bad leader, and shows her personality in the Fun Fire Round.

  • When One Miss Follows You Into the Next Play
    2026/09/30

If one missed shot, turnover, correction, or mistake keeps affecting your athlete's next possession, next play, or the rest of the game, this is the work I train directly with athletes.

    https://the-underdawgs-voice.newzenler.com/courses/1-on-1-basketball-pressure-coaching

In this episode of the Underdawgs Voice Podcast, Coach Que sits down with Myleigh Jasinski, a Class of 2030 freshman at Kettering Fairmont High School.

Myleigh explains what pressure felt like at the free-throw line: butterflies, fear, and the thought that missing could disappoint her teammates and coaches.

The missed free throw stayed in her head until another opportunity showed up. Then the game gave her a choice: keep replaying what had already happened, or get back into the work still in front of her.

Later, Myleigh made a game-saving defensive play. Looking back, she said that if she had kept thinking about the miss, she probably would have stayed in her head and not played to the best of her ability.

Her response became one of the strongest lines in the episode:

"Even if I miss this, I still got a game to play."

And later she gave that response a name:

"You always gotta be next play ready."

For parents, that changes what we should watch.

Do not only watch whether your athlete made or missed the shot. Watch what changes after the mistake.

    Does their head drop?

    Do they get quiet?

    Do they rush?

Do they hesitate because they are afraid to make another mistake?

    Do they stop communicating?

Or can they return to the next useful job?

One mistake can hurt. The question is how long it gets to control what happens next.
