  • Ep. 115 Guard The Wellspring
    2026/09/01

We spend so much energy managing our behavior and almost none guarding the place it all comes from. Proverbs says that out of the heart spring the issues of life. In this episode, Pastor Snyder stops trimming the fruit and goes after the root. The heart is a wellspring; it has gates (your eyes, your mouth, your feet), and you will end up living in the direction of whatever you protect. This is not white-knuckle control. It is tending the source so the stream runs clean.

    WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

    • Why the heart is the priority, not the behavior.

    • The three gates Proverbs 4 names, and how to guard them.

    • How a guarded heart becomes a pure heart that sees God.

    • One gate to audit this week.

    SCRIPTURE ANCHOR

Proverbs 4:20-27 (NKJV): "Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life." See also Philippians 4:6-8 and Matthew 5:8 (NKJV).

  • Ep. 114 The Fire Didn't Make You
    2026/08/25

We tend to think hard seasons build our character. More often, the fire simply reveals what was already there. In this episode

Pastor Snyder stands at the mouth of Daniel 3 with three young men who answered a king with one of the bravest sentences in Scripture, "but if not," and traces the fire back to a God who refines like gold and never leaves us in it alone. If you are in a furnace right now, you are not being destroyed. You are being revealed, refined, and accompanied.

    WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

    • Why the furnace is an X-ray, not a forge.

    • The mature faith hidden in the words "but if not."

    • How fire refines like gold instead of destroying you.

    • Why you never stand in the fire alone once the Spirit lives in you.

    SCRIPTURE ANCHOR

Daniel 3:16-18 (NKJV): "...our God whom we serve is able to deliver us... But if not... we do not serve your gods." See also 1 Peter 1:6-7 and Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV).

    THIS WEEK'S ASSIGNMENT

Name the furnace you are in. Write your own "but if not" sentence, and stay in the fire one beat longer, asking what it is building instead of only how to escape it.

    JOURNAL PROMPT

What is my current furnace revealing about what I already believe, and who is standing in it with me?

  • Ep. 113 Decide Before the Pressure
    2026/08/18

We tell ourselves we will rise to the moment, but under pressure we usually fall to whatever we have already decided. Daniel shows a better way. Before the king's table ever reached him, he "purposed in his heart" (Daniel 1:8, NKJV). The line was drawn in the calm, so the pressure had nothing left to bargain with.

In this first episode of Living By Principle, Pastor Snyder walks through Daniel 1:8 and the Psalm 15 portrait of a settled person, and gives you one thing to decide this week before the pressure arrives.

    WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

    • Why character is set before the pressure, not summoned during it.

    • What "Daniel purposed in his heart" means for the decisions in front of you.

    • The Psalm 15 marks of a person who "shall never be moved."

    • Why pre-deciding is really an act of belonging to God, sustained by His Spirit.

    THIS WEEK'S ASSIGNMENT

Name one line you have never actually drawn. Draw it today, in the calm, in writing, before anything asks you to cross it. Decide once, so you do not have to decide it a hundred times under fire.

    JOURNAL PROMPT

Where am I waiting until the pressure to decide who I will be, and what one line do I need to settle today, in the calm?

  • Ep. 110 The Beast Grows in the Dark
    2026/08/06

"The beast grows when emotions go unchecked."The beast does not grow from big blowups. It grows from quiet neglect, the things we swallow, rehearse, and never bring into the light. In this episode, Pastor Snyder shows the third way between exploding and stuffing, and how a daily check-in keeps small things small.

    WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

    - Why neglect, not intensity, is what feeds the beast.

    - The difference between unchecked and unfelt.

    - How a daily walk-through governs what would otherwise grow.

    SCRIPTURE ANCHOR

Proverbs 29:11, KJV: "A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards."

    THIS WEEK'S ASSIGNMENT

Once a day, ask, what am I leaving unchecked? Name one thing and deal with it before it grows.

    JOURNAL PROMPT

What have I been swallowing instead of governing, and where has it quietly grown?

  • Ep. 108 Your Response Reveals Your Leadership
    2026/07/31

You can put "leader" on a business card, but you cannot fake it when something goes wrong in the moment.

In this episode, Pastor Snyder makes the case that your response under pressure is the truest reflection of your resume, and gives you the reps that raise your leadership level, one moment at a time.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN: Why the people you lead read your composure more than your words.- What a "city without walls" teaches about ungoverned reactions.- Three quiet reps that raise your leadership level: pause, question, own your part.

SCRIPTURE ANCHOR: Proverbs 25:28, KJV: "He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls."

THIS WEEK'S ASSIGNMENT: Pick the one situation most likely to test you this week. Name it before it happens and decide your response in advance.

JOURNAL PROMPT: What is my most common reaction under pressure, and what is it teaching the people who watch me?
