Most testimonies follow a familiar shape — someone was lost, someone was found. But some lives don't divide that cleanly.

This week on Paths to Glory, we sit with a young man in his early twenties whose story is not about how he was rescued from the world — it is about what held inside him when everything he had leaned on was suddenly taken away. Born into a family that prayed through together every morning before school. Raised by a father who, when spanking was no longer the answer, would come stand beside him and pray, then walk the rooms of the house praying over the doorways. Fifteen years old when that father was lost to cancer, after a church that had prayed for healing until the very last night.

What followed were years of drift that never once became departure — and a slow, quiet return, service by service, prayer by prayer, to the roots that had been put down in him long before he knew what they were.

Because as he would tell you now, in his own careful words: the tree hadn't died. It was just drought.
