The prestige in fitness runs toward the elite. The math runs the other way.
Peter Park has trained Lance Armstrong, Justin Verlander, Kelly Slater, and numerous pro athletes. A pro, he says, arrives already near the ceiling, so a great year of coaching moves them a few percent. A 60-year-old who hasn't trained since the nineties is nowhere near it, and that same year decides how the rest of his life goes.
Dr. Kevin White sits down with Peter to talk about why the work is smaller than people expect, why he won't train anyone at their house, the 12-year-olds asking him about peptides, and the snail tattoo he got at 61.
"I get a pro athlete, I can change like ten percent. I get someone older, I can change their whole life."
