  • Liverpool strike late again against Atletico - next up the Merseyside Derby
    2025/09/18

Jimbo, Charlie Eccleshare, Colin Millar and Duncan Alexander assemble to pore over Tuesday and Wednesday's pretty tasty Matchday 1 Champions League ties.

Another late Liverpool goal? You don't say! We begin with Wednesday night at Anfield and the dramatic 3-2 win over Atletico, before turning attention to Chelsea's self-inflicted wounds in their 3-1 defeat by a superb Harry Kane-led Bayern Munich.

There's reflections on the wins for Tottenham and Arsenal on Tuesday night - and the rest of the action including the sacking of Bruno Lage at Benfica which seems to be opening the door for the return of a rather famous manager...

There was chaos in Turin, PSG purring, Trent limping off and headers aplenty elsewhere across the 12 matches we've seen so far - with no doubt more entertainment to come tonight.

We've got Carabao Cup fun - including Swansea's remarkable comeback against Ange's Forest - before a look ahead to the Premier League weekend that awaits!

Remember, we're back on Friday to reflect on Thursday night's Champions League action and preview the rest of the weekend's matches.

  • Juve 4-3 Inter, Barca hit six and the Champions League returns
    2025/09/16

The Euro crew are back as Jimbo, Pol Ballús, James Horncastle, Julien Laurens and Seb Stafford-Bloor (in person!) assemble for a bumper look ahead to Matchday 1 in the Champions League.

Barcelona proved it’s a case of no Yamal, no stadium, no problem - routing Valencia 6-0 in front of less than 6,000 fans at the Johan Cruyff Stadium. But it’s Real who continue to set the early pace - reduced to 10-men but still able to get the better of Sociedad to maintain their perfect start to the season.

The game of the weekend came in Serie A, where the Derby d'Italia certainly didn’t disappoint as the Thuram brothers took centre stage in a 4-3 thriller in Turin. Plus - Antonio Conte 2.0 shows he’s not as inflexible as everyone thinks - with his Napoli side coasting to a 3-1 win at Fiorentina to also make it three wins from three at the start of the campaign.

Bayern warmed up for the visit of Chelsea with an emphatic 5-0 Bundesliga victory over Hamburg on Saturday, while Leverkusen got the post-ten Hag era off to a winning start in their 3-1 beating of Frankfurt - despite being reduced to nine men!

PSG suffered injury blows aplenty in their 2-0 win over Lens which featured an emotional goodbye to one of their own - Presnel Kimpembe - after more than 20 years at the club. Plus, how equipped are Marseille to come away from the Bernabéu with a result in one of the most intriguing ties of the round?

All that plus training ground cats, Charli xcx’s wedding, nights out in Monaco and a whole lot of innuendo (we can only apologise).

    Produced by Lucy Oliva.

  • Haaland the hero in Manchester, Liverpool’s late shows + yes to Madueke
    2025/09/14

Jimbo is joined by Duncan Alexander, Jay Harris and Tom Williams in the studio after the return of the Premier League.

City sweep United aside in the Manchester derby, with Erling Haaland adding to his massive goal tally this week.

For the 4th time this season, it's a late winner from Liverpool as Mo Salah's penalty at Burnley keeps the champions top of the table.

Arsenal's new signings impress in the 3-0 victory over Ange Postecoglou's Forest. And it's more misery for West Ham, Wolves and goalless Villa.

Plus great headers, ref cams and the latest evolution in non-celebrations.
