Jim Wallis, former president of Sojourners and author of the book,The False White Gospel: Rejecting Christian Nationalism, Reclaiming True Faith, and Refounding Democracy says. “ white christian nationalism is idolatry because it draws Christians away from Christ”
Like the warning printed on the side view mirror of a car, the threat of a nationalistic faith that is insensitive to racial and social justice and puts patriotism ahead of the teachings of Jesus, is in my opinion being ignored by the Black church and the church at large. White Christian Nationalism is not being taken seriously. Yet, all the while the danger of an authoritarian state is becoming more and more of a reality in our lifetime.
