[See timecodes further below to skip to specific parts of this episode]

This episode (recorded 2025 and early 2026) is the second of two episodes about the savanna glider - a marsupial of Northern Australia.

You’ll hear Thomas Henessay and two of his volunteers (Sam and Asha) with the Katherine Savanna Glider Project as they explain how they help gliders thrive - by building nest boxes for them along the Katherine River, and plan to monitor gliders by putting cameras in those boxes.

Also in this episode, West Arnhem Land elder Jill Nganjmirra shares her memories from when she was a child camping in the bush, when the men would catch gliders to eat the next morning.

You can find more information and links relating to this episode here, and catch the first episode (featuring scientists Alyson and Tegan talking about their research on gliders) here.
