    2021/06/19

Harrie is a Wiltshire based artist specialising in highly immersive and expressionist paintings . Her work has an intuitive and playful relationship with colour, texture and proximity.  This passionate relationship has flowed into each collection she develops  following her cosmic starting point. Primarily working with acrylic and metallic paints, Harrie crosses platforms from canvas to theatrical sets and bespoke props-making; integrating her artistic skill set with theatre as an Actor-Artist.

  • Arts 23 Music with Nick Ball
    2021/05/26

I sit down with Nick Ball, front man of The Wrong Crowd, who will be headlining the Leeds Cabaret Extravaganza this Saturday, follow the link below to donate and get a ticket to online evening of music, comedy and circus. Nick Ball & The Wrong Crowd are four small-town boys wanting to conquer the big city. With an old soul rock 'n' roll spirit and young desire to rule the stage. They are a strange contradiction individually but make so much sense together with a bold presence. Nick resembles a young Marc Bolan stirred with The Wrong Crowd that display ingredients of The E Street Band.  Leeds Cabaret: https://www.gofundme.com/f/lbu-leeds-cabaret?utm_campaign=p_cp_url&utm_medium=os&utm_source=customer Nick Ball & The Wrong Crowd https://www.facebook.com/andthewrongcrowd https://www.instagram.com/andthewrongcrowd https://twitter.com/andthewrongcrwd https://soundcloud.com/andthewrongcrowd

  • Arts 22 Music with Smiling Ivy
    2021/05/23

Smiling Ivy has loved and hated each other since the playschool sandpit. Jammin' funk ska beats like man machines - on the brink of disaster, but never quite tipping the edge. Smiling Ivy is an untamed animal, enjoying the ride.

  • Arts 21 Music with Amie Jane Brown
    2021/05/15

Milo talks to Amie Jane Brown about her latest E.P. Rosie Coloured Spectacles, which bounces between laid back acoustic soul to quirky upbeat pop. Featuring samples from every song on the E.P. and a soon to be released track that takes her back to her Drum and Bass roots.

‘‘A Million And One Ways to die is a very interesting track, like a gritty post millennial update of Trip Hop” (Eddy Temple-Morris - Virgin Radio)

"Every once in a while we get a submission from an artist that really speaks to our heart. This week that artist is Amie Jane Brown. Her new song ‘Cheater’ is a piece of art."-(Keep Walking Music)

  • Arts 18 Theatre and Play with Mark Winstanley
    2021/03/13

Mark Winstanley is a teacher, performer and core member of A Ship of Fools Theatre Company.

With his partner Alice Robinson he co-runs The Performers' Playground, an intensive course that aims to help performers and artists become more  playful, light, impulsive, imaginative and free.

The course is highly practical, hilarious and seeks to help you discover  your pleasure on stage. From there who knows where we will go.

In my practise as a bouffon I'm curious to walk the sensitive razor thin line between the audience loving me one minute and hating me the next,  then loving me again all the while taking them further and further out of their comfort zone so that they ultimately  feel something.

As a teacher I question how can I help this student or that student become more alive, more radiant, and more playful on stage.

As I step deeper into becoming a theatre-maker I want to give the  audience an unforgettable night in the theatre, I want them to dream, to  enter a world apart from the mundane, a world as yet unknown to them,  full of mystery, beauty and light.

Come into the light to play.
