I’m Brad Young, a multi‑time bestselling author, and I created The Stoic’s Guide Podcast to help you cut through the noise of modern life and reconnect with the clarity, strength, and purpose the Stoics mastered centuries ago. Even in a world overflowing with stress, distraction, and constant pressure, I believe ancient wisdom can still transform the way we live today — and the show’s ranking in the top 50 philosophical podcasts and top 5% of podcasts globally tells me people are craving exactly that kind of guidance. Each episode, I break down the most powerful teachings from Marcus Aurelius, Seneca, Epictetus, and other great Stoic thinkers into simple, practical strategies you can use right away. Whether you’re navigating challenges in your career, relationships, or personal growth, I give you tools to build resilience, master your emotions, and create a more intentional, grounded life. If you’re ready to live with more stability, meaning, and inner peace, this podcast is your roadmap. Ancient wisdom for modern life — delivered in a way you can apply every single day. • Find Calm in the Eye of the Storm
    2026/10/27
Let me ask you a question, and I want you to sit with it honestly before you answer. When was the last time the storm was outside of you, and you were still calm inside? Not numb. Not checked out. Genuinely steady, clear-headed, able to think and choose and act well while everything around you shook. If that feels rare, or even impossible, you are not alone. Most of us have quietly accepted a lie. We have accepted that our inner weather must match the outer weather. That if the world is chaos, we must be chaos too. The Stoics would look at that and shake their heads. They would tell you that the storm outside and the storm inside are two entirely different things, and that you have far more power over the second one than you have ever been taught. • Discipline Now: The Freedom You Build Later
    2026/10/22
I want to open today with a word that most people flinch from. Discipline. Notice what happens in your body when you hear it. For a lot of us, discipline sounds like a cold room, a locked door, a life of saying no to everything we want. It sounds like a cage. And so we run from it. We chase the opposite. We chase ease, comfort, the freedom to do whatever we feel like in the moment. But here is the twist I want to spend the next twenty minutes or so unfolding with you, because it is one of the most important reversals in all of ancient thought. The people who chase freedom by avoiding discipline end up the least free of anyone. And the people who embrace discipline, who lean into it on purpose, end up walking through life like they own the place. Discipline now is the freedom you build later. That is the whole arc of today, and I promise you, it is practical. This is a field manual, not a sermon. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

  • Turn Pressure Into Your Sharpest Weapon
    2026/10/17
Let me put a question in front of you, and I want you to hold onto it as we go. What if the very pressure you have been running from is the exact thing that could make you stronger, clearer, and more capable than you have ever been? Sit with that. Because that is not a motivational slogan. That is a practice, and it is one that people have been sharpening for almost two thousand years. Learn more about your ad choices.
