    In this episode, we take a brief detour into the first-century Jewish rabbinical system to see the unique way Jesus operated within it and beyond it. We follow the traditional path from the Beth Sefer through the Beth Midrash and on to the role of a traveling disciple. We then see how radically Jesus departed from that expected route. Rather than climbing the religious ladder Jesus left a respectable local position. He called unqualified fishermen and outcasts as His disciples and demonstrated that God’s kingdom is built on willing hearts rather than impressive credentials.
