With a new mix on www.podomatic.com/soulshack each month , DJ-J-ME started "The Soul Shack" in November 2005 on Soulstream Networks as a way to share with the world his take on 'good' music...made with soul. From soulful & classic house to nu disco & chillwave to neo-soul & nu-jazz to rn'b to old school, funk and 'real' hip hop, it's all fair game on "The Soul Shack". Each month, depending on Jamie's mood you may hear any or all of the above music - sometimes a mixed bag of 'all things soulful', sometimes just a particular theme or genre...but always soulful! With Soul Shack parties having occurred in Toronto, New York, Miami & LA, the brand (and DJ-J-ME) continues to grow and gain new fans. Check this podcast for the latest Soul Shack mixes. (Archived Soul Shack mixes are available at www.mixcloud.com/soulshack) About DJ-J-ME: In demand, Toronto based dj who has played everything from 2,000 person Fortune 500 corporate events to Toronto rooftop hotspots like Kost & Lavelle to a decade of TIFF events in Yorkville for various celebrities, as well as gigs in NYC, LA, Chicago & Miami (where he enjoyed a monthly winter residency before Covid hit). His music style can be described as eclectic, sophisticated and soulful, using remixes, edits and acapellas to put a fresh twist on even the most well known songs, seamlessly mixing the familiar with relatively unknown lounge grooves and forgotten gems to provide a unique and engaging soundtrack. The final instalment of the 2025 Cottage Mix Series! This is a very special one (and not just because it's the last mix before The Soul Shack turns 20!) - earlier in the year I was at my STK residency and thought it would be cool to use part of the night to make a short recording of all 80's retro remixes. I thought at best, I could maybe make an hour long mix before having to change it up out of 80's remixes...but that didn't happen. Instead, the people there that night were appreciating it, and coming up to me and asking for other 80's artists so I just kept going...and just like that, we got this timeless 3hr mix of remixed 80's classics! Hope you enjoy, and if you do, please share and repost for others to enjoy too!

The Cottage Mix Series continues! Moving along the flow of a cottage weekend, we're now at the Sunday Morning edition! This was actually recorded during cocktails/dinner at a wedding earlier this summer, where the couple's musical tastes made it the perfect opportunity to record this mix! Sad that summer is over, but hopefully the summer weather continues a little longer, and hopefully you'll enjoy this laidback mix. (and if you do, please share and repost for others to enjoy too!)

***This is 2025, you can check out the 2026 Cottage Mix Series over on Mixcloud***

Another summer long weekend, another edition of The Cottage Mix Series! Moving along the flow of a cottage weekend, we're going from the Saturday Afternoon Edition last month to the Saturday Night Edition this month! This was recorded at a yacht club season opening party, so it's probably the most mainstream / mobile dj mix you're gonna hear from me here on the Soul Shack page, very similar to what you'd hear if I was djing a wedding (which I have 5 this upcoming month!).

Hope you had a great summer and hope you enjoy the continuation of the Cottage Mix series (and if you do, please share and repost for others to enjoy too!)
