  • #3 The Future of Cybersecurity
    2023/11/17

Most experts in the cybersecurity field are also part of the cybersecurity market: they've found their niche and audience, and are pushing hard to sell what they have to offer. If you ask them what the future of cybersecurity is? They'll most likely tell you that it's their product.

But there's also cybersecurity experts who are just starting their venture, who are still exploring; these are the ones where expertise is combined with an open mind. And we wanted to have these peoples' take on the future of cybersecurity.

So during this year's Web Summit in Lisbon, we picked the brains of a handful of cybersecurity entrepreneurs, both seasoned and fresh-faced, that aren't set in their ways yet.

You're in for a wild ride.

These are the founders and companies we spoke to:

    • Alan Jones is the CEO of YEO messaging.
    • Nils Karn is the CEO of mitigant.
    • Wojciech Grenda is the CEO of GDPR risk tracker.
    • Nicolas Thomas is the CEO of Inkan Link. Their app is called sealfie.

Here's the research paper that Nicolas mentions in the episode.

  • #2 Measuring Behavior
    2023/11/10

The behavior of one single individual is almost impossible to predict, but the behavior of groups can be anticipated with amazing accuracy. It's not even that hard: it's similar to how it's almost impossible to predict the movement of a single snowflake, but quite doable to predict a snowstorm.

Here's the website of the specialists who designed the »STAR WARS™ Identities« exhibition. If you click on »scientific committee« you can clearly see what the focus was.

In this YouTube video (starting at 21:26) you can get a sense of how exhibition visitors interacted with the various terminals across the venue.

Here's the wikipedia entry for computational sociology.
