This week, Dave, Jack, Danny and Andy somehow start with a “serious” chat about how billions of people now work without desks… and end up questioning whether anyone actually works at all anymore. Self-employment is booming (or disappearing? depends who you ask), and the lads try to figure out how we went from 90% of people grafting for themselves to… whatever this is now. No one agrees, least of all Danny.

Then things get properly weird. There’s talk of AI giving everyone £20,000 a year in the UK , Jack’s already spent his imaginary money, Dave doesn’t trust it, Andy thinks it’s a trap, and Danny’s just wondering if it includes free pints.

Film corner goes rogue as they dive into Tom Cruise’s journey from “questionable” roles to full-blown cinematic legend… including a passionate (and slightly concerning) defence of Cocktail. Yes, really. You won’t look at flair bartending the same way again.

On a more serious note (briefly), the lads tackle why so many women still don’t feel safe walking at night, with some honest, awkward, and surprisingly thoughtful moments….

And just when you think it’s settled, they circle back to self-employment: is it thriving, dying, or just hiding from the taxman? Expect laughs, chaos, wild opinions, and at least three moments where Dave threatens to end the episode early.

OK, so yeah… we’re back.

After a short Christmas break (by “short” we mean long enough for everyone to forget how the mics work), Episode 27 sees Dave, Danny, Jack and Andy return in peak post-festive form which is to say: slightly tired, mildly unhinged, and absolutely no more organised than before.

Dave kicks things off battling a rogue tooth that’s been causing him pain and, more importantly, an attitude. If he sounds a bit snappy this episode, it’s not the banter, it’s dentistry. Andy contributes a series of world-class yawns, bravely pushing through what may or may not be a festive food coma. Danny arrives spiritually reborn, confidently announcing that he no longer cares about anything which, ironically, he explains at great length. And Jack? Jack’s got thoughts. Lots of thoughts. On everything. Strap in.

We cover the hard-hitting topics: How’s everyone been? What’s everyone been up to? Why is Dave so angry? Is Danny actually okay? Is Andy awake? Will Jack ever finish a sentence in under six minutes?

Welcome to our Christmas Special, Episode 26!

This one’s a proper festive roundup as we look back on the life of the podcast, how it all started, and where it’s heading next. We’re joined by Solomon from Pie Radio, owner and producer of over 70% of the episodes, as we talk about the journey so far, the behind-the-scenes graft, and what it’s taken to keep the podcast growing.

Danny fully commits to the season by rocking a Grinch hat, while Andy and Jack jump in to chat about all things Christmas and share their thoughts looking ahead to 2026.
