  • The Courage to Soften
    2026/07/08

    What happens when the very strengths that once helped us survive begin keeping us from the love, support and connection we long for?

    I first met Paola Tolvo after The Goddess Retreat® in Puerto Vallarta, where I was leading a workshop based on the book, Manifest Like a Goddess. The discussion naturally shifted toward relationships, emotional safety and the ways many women have learned to lead from self-protection rather than trust. That moment became the beginning of a friendship and an ongoing dialogue that continues today.

    Paola and I explore what happens when hyper-independence becomes more than a survival strategy and begins shaping our identity, relationships and nervous systems. We talk about the loneliness that can exist beneath competence, why vulnerability often feels threatening and how small shifts in the way we relate can transform our experience of intimacy.

    Together, we explore attachment patterns, emotional safety, feminine essence, partnership and what it means to soften enough to receive the love, support and care we've been trying so hard to provide for ourselves.

    Whether you’re healing old relationship patterns, feeling exhausted from carrying too much on your own, or longing for deeper connection, this conversation offers a thoughtful invitation to loosen the grip of self-protection and remember that strength and softness can coexist.

    In this episode:

    * Why hyper-independence often becomes an identity rather than simply a coping strategy

    * The loneliness that can exist beneath competence and self-reliance

    * The Puerto Vallarta workshop breakthrough moment where this conversation first began

    * The relationship between attachment, emotional safety and vulnerability

    * Why many women confuse control with safety and how that affects intimacy

    * The importance of sisterhood and being witnessed by other women

    * Paola’s signature frameworks: Let the Love Through, Deeply Simple and 2% More

    * Creating relationships rooted in honesty, repair and emotional intimacy

  • Curiosity as a Sovereign Act
    2026/06/24

    Certainty can feel safe until it becomes the thing that keeps us stuck.

    In this conversation, therapist, pastor and longtime friend Alva Carter-Pope joins me to explore what begins to open when we stop demanding fixed answers and allow curiosity to become part of the healing process.

    Together, we talk about healing, grief, spirituality, sovereignty and the courage it takes to question the beliefs, patterns and inherited ideas that shape our understanding of ourselves and the world.

    Alva shares how profound loss at a young age opened a lifelong inquiry into healing, choice and human possibility. Her story reminds us that grief can awaken questions we never knew to ask, and that those questions can become pathways toward freedom.

    At its heart, this conversation is about the wisdom of curiosity. It is an invitation to trust your own inner knowing, listen beyond certainty and recognize that healing often begins when we become willing to ask a different question.

    In This Episode

    * Why healing can feel like chaos before it feels like growth

    * The spiral nature of transformation

    * Curiosity as a pathway to healing

    * Grief, loss and personal awakening

    * Belief versus direct experience

    * Spirituality beyond rigid religious structures

    * One truth, many paths

    * The role of imagination in healing

    * How conditioning shapes identity

    * Why comparison keeps us stuck

    * The relationship between healing and personal freedom

    * Learning to trust your own inner authority
