  • See the Magic in the Mundane
    2026/08/06

In this episode, we're talking about what it means to stay present in your actual life — not the one you're chasing or the one you used to have. We get into the difference between a hell yes and a hell maybe, what it looks like to miss an old season without trying to rebuild it, and a simple practice — writing tomorrow out before it happens — that's changed how intentional our days feel. If you're ready to stop waiting for the big moments and start noticing the ones you're already in, this one's for you.

  • Reset Your Damn Yes
    2026/07/30

So I did a thing yesterday — I found an old video of myself from May, stood in almost the exact same pose I was in for a video I filmed this past weekend, and put them side by side. Two months apart. And when I tell you I was blown away... it wasn't even the physical change that got me. It was my face. I was carrying so much weight that had nothing to do with a scale.

I wrote something in the caption that really hit Mo: it's amazing what can happen in your life in just two months when you take the frustrations off your table and just reset your damn yes.

That post sparked a whole conversation, and we ended up recording it because we think a lot of you need to hear it. We're talking about what it actually looks like to let go of something that used to work for you but doesn't anymore — a routine, a role, an idea of who you're supposed to be — and why that guilt you feel about pivoting isn't the truth, it's just noise.

We get into accountability, why you have to give something a real shot before you write it off (the ugly dress on the rack is definitely cuter on), and why putting yourself last isn't selfless — it's selfish.

If you've been standing with your back against a wall you don't actually need to be stuck at, this is your sign to step away from it.

Pull up a chair, grab your coffee, and let's get rooted.

  • Am I Ungrateful If I Want More?
    2026/07/23

Am I Ungrateful If I Want More?

It's one of the top things women are actually typing into Google — quietly, alone, usually at night. This episode is us pulling it into the light.

We're digging into where that question really comes from: is wanting more coming from a place of lack, or a place of purpose? We talk about the guilt that shows up the second you admit you want something for yourself — and why that guilt isn't always telling you the truth.

We get into the difference between chasing something to distract yourself from hard responsibilities versus chasing something because you're genuinely called to it.

This one lands on a line that's staying with us: contentment doesn't mean you stop dreaming. It means you stop believing your dream is the thing that will finally make you enough.

If you've ever felt small next to someone else's success, or felt guilty for wanting more when your life already looks good on paper — this episode is for you.

    Raw, real, unscripted. Stay rooted.

  • Don't Let One Difficult Season Convince You to Quit
    2026/07/16

"If you judge a tree in winter, you'd never believe in spring."

This episode is us pulling that apart, line by line. We start with the mistake most people make without realizing it — judging your whole future off of one hard season, and letting that circumstance decide what you think is possible. From there we get into the tree metaphor and actually make it work: bare branches, thick bark, root systems that pass resources between trees underground, and why comparing your winter to someone else's spring is the fastest way to lose your own perspective.

Then it gets more direct. We talk about what happens the moment you stop pushing toward something hard — the bike-uphill problem. We talk about belief as the actual root of whether you try in the first place. And we land on the line that's staying with us both: everyone leaves this earth with unfinished plans. The real question is whether those are plans you fought for, or plans you never showed up to chase.

This one gets into boundaries you haven't set, the "yes" you keep giving out of obligation, and the difference between quitting on yourself and quitting on a path that was never going to work anyway.

Raw, real, unscripted — like every episode. Stay rooted.

  • Autopilot. Messy Action. And Taking Off Other People's Expectations
    2026/07/02

Today's about autopilot — how easy it is to just go through the motions without ever asking why anymore. Get up, go to work, come home, do it again. Groundhog Day. If that's you right now, you're not alone, and you're not behind — you're just stuck in a pattern nobody ever gave you permission to pause.

So we get into it. Messy action — taking the step before you've got it all figured out, before the plan is perfect, before you feel ready. We talk about what that actually looks like when your life is already full — how even fifteen minutes with a pen and paper, sketching out the idea you keep pushing off, counts as movement forward. We get into time and priorities, the pockets of your day you didn't realize you had, and why "playing small" isn't always what you think it is.

We talk about the mom-shaming spiral so many of us have felt, or maybe even done without meaning to — and why judging how someone else is doing the best they can has no place in any of this. We talk gratitude, the pivots you didn't ask for that ended up being exactly what you needed, and why you should never leave your better future to memory. Write it down.

And we land the episode on something that hit different: whose expectations have you been wearing that were never yours to carry? Somewhere along the way, most of us picked up opinions, standards, and voices that were never ours to begin with — and we've been walking around with them like they belong to us. This one's about noticing that, and giving yourself permission to take it off.

Autopilot. Messy action. Expectations. Come sit with us for this one — and stay rooted.

  • Backhanded Comments & Negative People: How to Stop Letting Other People's Opinions Block Your Dreams
    2026/06/25

Got a backhanded comment from a "friend" the last time you got excited about something? This one's for you.

This week on She's Rooted, Mo and I are talking about dealing with negative people, backhanded comments, and the self-doubt that creeps in right when you're finally taking action on your dream. We get into the real difference between someone protecting you out of love vs. someone tearing you down out of their own insecurity — and exactly how to tell which one you're dealing with.

I share some of my own stories — family members publicly trashing my business, "friends" showing up with someone else's coffee instead of mine — and why the loudest critics are usually the people doing the least with their own lives.

New here? This is Part 3 of our Messy Action series — go back and catch Parts 1 & 2 if you missed them.

If this hits home, send it to a friend who needs to hear it today, and hit follow so you don't miss next week's episode.

    Stay rooted, sis.

  • Stop Playing Small: What's Really Getting In Your Way
    2026/06/18

Have you ever felt like the thing you want to do has to stay small because everything else in your life is demanding big?

Yeah. We need to talk about that.

In Episode 52 we are continuing our stumbling block series and this one is personal. We are going deep on playing small — what it actually means, why we do it, and the difference between making something small because your season demands it versus making something small because you don't believe it deserves a seat at the table. Those are two very different things and one of them is quietly working against everything you want.

We are also getting into the outside noise. The backhanded comments. The friend who walks into your coffee shop with a Starbucks. The person you keep sharing your excitement with who just gives you a wall. We talk about why those moments hit so hard, what to do when they do, and how to decide what you are actually going to receive and store as truth — and what you are going to crumple up and toss.

In this episode we get into:

    • Why playing something small does not have to mean it is insignificant — and how to know the difference
    • How spreading one exciting thing across your whole day is actually what kills your momentum not the thing itself
    • Why you do not need other people to be excited for your excitement in order to keep going
    • How to take comments captive before they take root in your mind and become your belief
    • Why their lack of belief is about them and not you
    • How to stop comparing your chapter two to somebody else's chapter five hundred
    • Why you have to take yourself seriously before anyone else will
    • What it means to do it until — and why that is the only timeline that matters
    • How to go to bed at night and actually feel proud of what you showed up for today

This is for the woman who keeps shrinking the thing that matters to her because she is waiting for the right season, the right support, or the right amount of time. You do not need any of those things. You need a small pocket of time and an all in mentality inside of it.

Don't play it small even if you can only give it small. Press play.

New here? Welcome. We are Jamie and Mo and we keep it real, raw and rooted. Subscribe so you never miss an episode and if this one hits close to home share it with the woman in your life who needs this reminder today.

  • Too Busy and Playing Small? Let's Fix That
    2026/06/11

Have you ever looked at your calendar and wondered where the time went — and why the one thing you actually want to do keeps getting pushed to the bottom of the list?

    Yeah. We know that feeling.

In this episode we are getting real about the two stumbling blocks that are standing between you and the dream you keep telling yourself you will get to someday. And we are breaking them down with zero filter because we have lived both of them firsthand building this very podcast from scratch.

Stumbling Block One: Time. Not the lack of it — the belief around it. We talk about why you keep letting everything else bump your goal off the calendar, how to actually time block for the thing that matters to you without the guilt, why later never works and what to do instead, and how 20 messy minutes beats zero perfect ones every single time.

Stumbling Block Two: Playing Small. This one stings. If you have ever caught yourself thinking it is just a little thing I am doing — that belief is quietly working against everything you want. We dig into why women undervalue their own goals, how to stop waiting until something feels worthy enough to protect, and what it looks like to finally give your dream a real seat at the table even before it is making you money or making sense to anyone else.

    We also get into:

    • Why your belief drives your action and your action drives your results — and what to do if you do not like what you are getting
    • How to start something when you have absolutely no idea how to do it
    • Why messy action will always beat waiting until you are ready
    • How to let go of needing a guaranteed result and show up anyway
    • What consistency really looks like when life is full and the timing is never perfect
    • How to find your ignition — the real reason your goal matters — so it stops being optional

This is for the woman who has the dream, keeps pushing it down the list, and tells herself she will get to it when things slow down. Things are not going to slow down. But you can get rooted in what matters and start showing up for it today.

Even if it is messy. Especially if it is messy.

Pull up a chair, grab your coffee, and press play. We are your two besties and we are not going to let you play small today.

New here? Welcome. We keep it real, raw and rooted. Subscribe so you never miss an episode and if this one hits home share it with the woman in your life who needs to hear it.
