Welcome back to season 2 of The Sharing Circle.

After spending over two years training in The Shaman's Quest, Melissa shares her journey and how it began over 20 years ago.

Beginning, with only a thread of a dream and a wish to be held, the wisdom of Shamanism whistled through the wind and invited me on a life changing journey.

What I later discovered during my training, was that this path had quietly called during a visit to Vancouver, Canada in 2006 when I was 13.

To help me unravel the memory, Spirit connected me with a guide who had also travelled those lands a few years after me (in fact, we both have a photo standing basically in the same spot).

The lands of Cornwall have held my grief and my joy for over two years. 8 weekends, hours of journeying, dancing, laughing, playing with my inner child, shedding stories, creating new stories, gathering, crafting, being, crying, releasing, holding, drumming, singing and eating lots of yummy foods.

This has been and always shall be, the most heart-opening experience of my journey thus far.

"The magick that can be found within a sacred woodland is a special kind of magick. A magick that secretly weaves its way around your bones; one breath at a time with two feet upon the soft, earthen ground.

Deeply inspired by Narnia as a child, these woodlands in Cornwall invoke an energy within me that longed to wander through the wooden wardrobe that sat in my childhood bedroom. Though that wardrobe did not contain an abundance of fur coats, nor did it lead to Narnia (much to my disappointment), it did contain within it a seed of a dream that had yet to germinate.

Years later, I would find myself stepping through the portal of my Shamanic training into a woodland that felt as though I had travelled to a different time, a different place, slightly separate from my own reality but also the same."
