Plans are beginning to take shape, and for the first time, the possibility of something quite different seems to be waiting just outside.

The Author’s Story: Frances Hodgson Burnett was an enthusiastic gardener herself. At her home in England, Great Maytham Hall, she spent hours outdoors among the flowers and greenery, and the old walled garden there is believed to have helped inspire the garden at the heart of this story.
