  • One Question That Will Change the Next 5 Years of Your Life: Habits and Consistency || Ep. 170
    2026/08/05

You’re Not Inconsistent. You’re Consistent at the Wrong Things. Change Your Habits, Change Your Life

What if your last 30 days could predict the next five years of your life?

In this episode of The One Second of Strength Podcast, Tanner Clark takes you on a walk that turns into one of the most honest conversations about habits, consistency, self-love, personal growth, and mindset.

Most people believe they struggle with consistency. The truth?

You’re already consistent—you may just be consistent in the wrong things.

Every decision you make is a vote for the person you’re becoming.

    In this episode, you’ll learn:

    • Why your daily habits determine your future.

    • The surprising truth about consistency.

    • How self-love influences the standards you accept in life.

    • Why scrolling, distractions, and unhealthy relationships quietly shape your future.

    • How to break negative habits and build a life you’re proud of.

    • The powerful lesson Michelangelo’s David teaches about personal transformation.

    • Why it’s never too late to become the person you’re meant to be.

If you’ve been feeling stuck, unmotivated, overwhelmed, or unsure of who you’re becoming, this episode will challenge you to ask one life-changing question:

If the last 30 days repeated for the next five years… would you like where your life ends up?

Remember: every action is a vote for your future.

You’re always one second of strength away from a completely different life.

  • Digital Atrophy: How Screen Time Weakens Your Brain || Ep. 169
    2026/08/04

Five years ago I ruptured my Achilles. When I finally started walking again, the muscle was just gone. That's atrophy — weakening from lack of use. I think our brains are going through the same thing because of screen time. I call it digital atrophy.

If you're 16 and live to 80, that's 64 years. An hour a day of scrolling costs you 2.6 years of your life. Four hours a day — which is closer to reality for most of us — costs you 10.6 years.

And it's not just the time. Three things are quietly atrophying:

Focus. It takes 23 minutes to get into real deep work, but most of us check our phones every five.

Creativity. Heavier phone use is linked to weaker performance on creative tasks — and AI is only accelerating that outsourcing of our thinking.

Social skills. Eye contact, real conversation, asking for something in person — all harder when a screen does the talking for us.

None of this is an accident. The addictive design isn't a bug, it's the feature.

The fix is reps: real conversations, screen-free creative time, sitting with hard problems a little longer. Rebuild the muscle the same way you'd rebuild any other one.

Go find your One Second of Strength — and be happy.

  • 60 Hours: Find Your Rescue Point || Ep. 167
    2026/07/14

A researcher put rats in water to see how long they could swim. The first ones lasted 15 minutes before they died — the next ones swam for 60 hours, and the only difference was hope.

In this episode, Tanner breaks down the real formula behind burnout — High Expectations + Low Control — and why more effort isn't always the answer. You'll learn why your brain shuts down right when things get hard, what a “rescue point” actually is, and three moves that turn burnout back into momentum: shrink the jar, name the proof, and take the one action you've been avoiding.

If you feel like your effort isn't working anymore, this episode is your rescue point.

  • The Storm Doesn’t Break You, It Reveals What You’re Built On || Ep. 166
    2026/07/07

What are you built on? Two people get caught in the same storm. One loses everything. One doesn’t move an inch. The difference wasn’t the storm — it was what was underneath, buried out of sight long before the rain ever started.

This week Tanner breaks down the ancient story of the wise man and the foolish man — one house built on rock, one on sand — and unpacks the three things that actually make up your foundation: your beliefs, your habits, and your character. Not vague ideas. The specific, buildable stuff that decides whether you crack under pressure or hold steady.

You’ll learn why other people’s opinions of you were never supposed to become your beliefs about yourself — and how to tell which ones are actually true. You’ll hear why confidence isn’t a feeling you wait for, it’s a track record you build one small action at a time — and why your comfort zone might just be too small. And you’ll find out why character is only ever revealed in the moments nobody’s watching.

Every storm you weather doesn’t just get you through — it makes the foundation stronger for the next one. So today’s question is simple: rock, or sand?

  • What's Really Holding You Back (The Unless Mindset) || Ep. 165 (Summer Replay)
    2026/06/29

Have you ever felt like you know what you want... but you just can't seem to make progress?

In this episode, I want to share one simple word that has completely changed the way I think about growth, success, and becoming the person I want to be.

    That word is unless.

What if you started asking yourself:

    "I can't become ______ unless I ______."

That one question forces you to stop wishing and start identifying what actually needs to change.

I talk about three "unlesses" that I believe apply to almost everyone:

    • Spend less time consuming and more time creating.
    • Become the person your future requires.
    • Think—and act—bigger than you have before.

Whether your goal is to build a business, make the team, become a better parent, strengthen your faith, or simply become a better version of yourself, this episode will challenge you to think differently about what's really standing between you and the life you want.
