In this episode Kerry and Dr. Josh Matson discuss Wisdom Literature in general and what we can get out of it and how. Then Kerry and Dr. Michael Biggerstaff talk about Proverbs in general and the major themes and what the book says about itself and how to gain from it. They discuss the theme of fear of the Lord in the book of Proverbs, as well as the theme of wisdom. They help us understand what it may really mean. They dive into how wisdom from God makes us and then makes a difference in our lives, and how God's patience and longsuffering with us is shown in the Book of Proverbs. Then Rabbi Joe Charnes joins the podcast to go a bit more into depth with Proverbs 1 and Proverbs 15. They look at a Jewish point of view of wisdom and how we can be guided more deeply by gaining wisdom from Proverbs and Wisdom Literature in general. Finally Kerry explains what is happening in Ecclesiastes and how it teaches us about the emphasis we should have in life and the need to think celestial and put the eternal first and spend only appropriate time on the fleeting, or the things of the world.

In this episode Kerry and Jenny Oaks Baker explore how music brings power into our lives and thus how we can draw more power out of the Psalms. Jenny shares some stories from her family and life and how it combines with music to bless her life. Then Kerry and Dr. Paul Hoskisson explore names of God, Christ, and others in the scriptures, especially the Psalms, to help us gain more meaning from them. They specifically look at how Jesus used Psalm 110 to teach about who He is, for both the pharisees and us. Then Kerry and Nathan Pacheco talk about Psalm 127 and how we need the Lord to build anything in our lives. Nathan shares how this helped him in his work and career. They talk about how important that is in our families and children being a heritage from the Lord. They explore what it means that children are a heritage from the Lord, a phrase used in Psalm 127 that is also used in the Proclamation on the Family. Then Kerry and Rabbi Jarrod Grover discuss the Hillel Psalms, which were probably psalms that the Savior sang with His apostles just before going to Gethsemane. The Rabbi brings out a small insight from the Hebrew text for several of those psalms, helping us understand them better and the Savior better.
