- At 3:40 a.m. on November 14, 1941, Walter Pruett wrote "Barometric pressure 29.14 and falling" on a four-by-six service card.
- Pruett's card also recorded "Wind north-northeast at 22" and "Fog bank inside the breakwater, lamp confirmed burning, no vessel."
- Marvin Rogers, aged 44, recorded the barometric pressure 29.14 on his battery-operated digital weather station in September 2021 at the same hour.
- Pruett installed an unauthorized shore telemetry relay running from the cottage to the breakwater in the late 1930s; its schematic was found in November 2021.
- The service tag was found taped behind a water heater card and the relay schematic was found under a rotted back-bedroom floorboard weeks after Rogers's first anomalous reading.
