• Mom Burnout & Guilt: When Motherhood Feels Like Too Much | Right Now Is Not Forever
    2026/08/07

Are you an overwhelmed mom wondering if motherhood is always going to feel this hard? Maybe you're dealing with mom guilt, burnout, anger, anxiety, postpartum depression, exhaustion, or the feeling that you're trapped in a season that will never change.

In this episode of The Rooted Mother, we're talking about the truth that right now is not forever. When motherhood feels like too much and you can't see a way forward, God hasn't forgotten you, and you were never meant to carry it all on your own.

We're looking at Deuteronomy 31:8, where God promises that He goes before us, stays with us, and will never leave or forsake us. We'll also look at the story of Elijah in 1 Kings 19, a man who reached the point of saying, “I've had enough, Lord,” and discover what his story teaches us about exhaustion, weakness, rest, and depending on God.

I'll also share my personal experience with postpartum depression after having my fourth child, Joshua, eight years after my youngest. Having such a large age gap gave me something I didn't have when I experienced postpartum depression with my first three children: perspective. I could finally see right in front of me that the baby stage, sleepless nights, diapers, and constant demands of motherhood really do end.

But knowing a season is temporary doesn't mean it's easy.

You can love your children and still feel overwhelmed.
You can be grateful for motherhood and still need a break.
You can have faith and still have hard days.
You can know this season will end and still need God to carry you through today.

And that's the reminder I want you to take away from this episode:

You don't have to carry forever today. You just have to let Jesus meet you in right now.

If you're an overwhelmed Christian mom who feels stuck, exhausted, guilty, or like you're failing, I hope this episode reminds you that God is with you in the middle of this season, and right now is not forever.

  • When Motherhood Feels Heavy: What the Bible Really Says About Burdens
    2026/08/05

Have you ever looked at your life as a mom and thought, "Why does everything feel so heavy?"

Maybe you've started seeing motherhood as a burden. Or maybe it's the endless responsibilities, the pressure to do it all, or the quiet belief that you'll never be enough.

But what if we've been defining the word burden the way our culture does... instead of the way God does?

In this episode of The Rooted Mother, we're opening the book of Numbers to discover a surprising truth about the Hebrew word for burden and how it completely changed the way I see motherhood. Together, we'll explore what it means to be entrusted with a sacred calling, why God often uses our greatest responsibilities to draw us closer to Him, and how to tell the difference between the burdens He's asking us to carry and the ones He never intended us to bear.

If you've been feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or like you're carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders, this conversation is for you.

✨ In this episode you'll discover:

    • Why the biblical meaning of burden is different than you might think
    • How our culture has shaped the way we view motherhood
    • The difference between a God-given calling and unnecessary emotional weight
    • How Jesus invites us to find rest without abandoning our responsibilities
    • Why dependence on God, not perfection, is the goal of Christian motherhood

  • Is Anxiety Changing the Way You Read the Bible?
    2026/08/01

Have you ever opened your Bible, read the words "Do not be anxious about anything," and walked away feeling more discouraged than encouraged?

If you've ever wondered whether your anxiety means you're failing God, lacking faith, or just "not getting it," this episode is for you.

Today we're talking about something that completely changed the way I read Scripture: anxiety doesn't just affect our thoughts, it can affect the lens through which we read God's Word.

We'll explore three common lies anxiety whispers to Christian moms:

    • "If I'm still anxious, I must not trust God enough."
    • "If I don't understand my Bible, I must not be close to God."
    • "If her faith journey looks different than mine, I must be doing something wrong."

Together we'll look at what Scripture actually says, why God isn't asking you to have perfect faith, and how to approach the Bible with an anxious heart instead of believing the shame anxiety tries to pile on.

If you've been carrying guilt, comparison, or fear into your quiet time, I pray this conversation helps you see God's heart more clearly.

✨ In this episode you'll learn:

    • Why anxiety changes the way we interpret Scripture
    • What Philippians 4:6 really means
    • Why struggling with anxiety isn't the same as lacking faith
    • How to stop comparing your spiritual journey to someone else's
    • One simple question to ask every time you open your Bible

  • Why I Started Reading My Bible When Motherhood Broke Me (And How It Changed My Anxiety)
    2026/08/01

Have you ever looked at your Bible and felt guilty because you just couldn't find the time, or energy, to open it?

As moms, it's easy to believe that reading Scripture is just another item on an already impossible to-do list. Between caring for our families, homeschooling, work, laundry, dishes, and everything else life throws at us, our Bibles often become the first thing we neglect.

But what if opening God's Word isn't another obligation?

What if it's actually where peace begins?

In today's episode, I'm sharing my personal story of how I went nearly 30 years without reading the Bible, how anxiety and postpartum depression brought me to one of my lowest points, and how one simple verse, Isaiah 41:10, became the beginning of a life-changing relationship with Jesus.

    We'll talk about:

    • Why reading the Bible isn't about being a "better Christian"
    • How Scripture helped me through anxiety and postpartum depression
    • What it really means to hear God's voice
    • Why God's Word renews our minds (Romans 12)
    • Simple ways to start reading the Bible, even when you're overwhelmed

If you've been wondering whether reading your Bible really makes a difference, I hope this episode reminds you that God isn't asking for perfection—He's inviting you into a relationship with Him.

  • Waiting on God? What the Wilderness Season Is Really Teaching You | Christian Encouragement for Moms
    2026/07/28

Have you ever wondered why God allows wilderness seasons?

If you're waiting on God, struggling with anxiety, walking through mom burnout, facing postpartum depression, or simply wondering why life feels so hard right now, this episode is for you.

In today's episode of The Rooted Mother, we're diving into Numbers 9 and uncovering a beautiful truth that completely changed the way I see seasons of waiting.

For years, I believed the wilderness was where God had abandoned His people.

But Scripture tells a different story.

    The wilderness wasn't punishment.
    It was preparation.

I'll share my own story of moving to Pennsylvania, watching everything I thought God was building seem to fall apart, and how looking back, I can now see that God was preparing my family for something far greater than I could have imagined.

We'll also explore how the wilderness appears throughout Scripture—from Moses to Elijah to Jesus—and why God so often does His deepest work in the seasons we would never choose for ourselves.

    If you've been asking:

    • Why am I still waiting on God?
    • Why does God allow difficult seasons?
    • Is God still with me in my anxiety?
    • How do I trust God when nothing seems to be changing?
    • What does the Bible say about wilderness seasons?

I pray this episode encourages your heart.

In this episode, we'll talk about:

    • What the wilderness represents in the Bible
    • The surprising meaning of the Hebrew word midbar
    • Why God stopped Israel in the wilderness before the Promised Land
    • How remembering God's faithfulness strengthens our faith
    • What God may be teaching you during your waiting season
    • Why your wilderness isn't wasted

    Scripture Mentioned

    • Numbers 9
    • Exodus and the Passover
    • Moses and the burning bush
    • Elijah in the wilderness
    • Jesus' forty days in the wilderness
