    The boys ring in the new year by discussing the recently released Olympic teams for the United States, Canada, Sweden, & Finland. We discuss the strengths and weaknesses of each team and touch on some notable snubs. We also recap the Winter Classic that wasn't so winter-like in Miami and if anything needs to change with where the NHL selects venues for the big game. The United States and Canada bow out of the World Juniors before the final leaving the Gold Medal for either Sweden or Czechia. Auston Matthews passes Mats Sundin for the most goals in Maple Leafs History. Stamkos joins the 600 goal club. The Penguins trade for Yegor Chinakov. J.J. Moser inks a long-term deal with the Lightning. Collin pulls a classic rookie move in the alumni game and we set some goals for 2026.

    The boys catch up after the holidays to address the happenings around the league before the break and play a game of Guess Who to kick things off. The Kings traded Philip Danault back to Montreal where he had a lot of success in his career. Mason Marchment was dealt for the 2nd time this calendar year to the Blue Jackets by the Kraken. After the Penguins were sold to a new ownership group, Sidney Crosby became the franchise leader in points passing Mario Lemieux. Buffalo is on a heater winning 7 games in a row after firing their GM. Detroit sits atop the Atlantic Division having everyone wondering if this is the year they get back to the playoffs. The ECHL players are set to Strike and Jack Hughes is doing his best to become the next Travis Kelce of the NFL by going on dates with popstar Tate McRae.

Edmonton swaps goalies with Pittsburgh by Trading for Tristan Jarry and sending Stuart Skinner packing. The Sabres make another GM change, hoping this one is better than the last. MacKinnon passes Sakic for most goals in Avalanche history, Kaprizov broke another Wild Franchise History record. Nino Niedereiter plays in his 1,000th game and Draisaitl notches his 1,000th point both of which are major milestones for players hailing from countries that are not hockey hot beds. College Hockey takes center stage at the Spengler Cup for the first time in years. Minnesota Hockey announces the location of their very own Hall of Fame.

Hand Passes are becoming controversial seemingly every night, Brandon Bussi can’t lose, and the new Stadium Series jerseys will feature yet another home vs home jersey matchup.
