Franchesca Ramsey dreamed of participating in what felt like a Black girl's right of passage: getting hair relaxer. When the time finally came, she had no idea what it would cost her.

Franchesca Ramsey is an actor, writer, and comedian. She is a former writer and correspondent for Comedy Central’s The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore and has published a memoir, Well, That Escalated Quickly. Today she co-hosts the podcast Lemme Fix It!
