For generations, people in rural Thailand have told stories of the Krasue, a woman whose head leaves her body after dark with her internal organs hanging beneath it as she travels in search of blood, carrion and filth. Strange red, green and orange lights seen moving above fields have repeatedly been linked to the creature, and remarkably, alleged sightings continue today, with reports from Ratchaburi and Lopburi in 2023, Surin and Buriram in 2024, and Phetchabun as recently as February 2026.
