Welcome to the Rebel Work Podcast!

Your host, SophieBryan is the Founder & Chief Workplace Culture Consultant @ Ordinarily Different Ltd, and Career & Life Coach @ SophieBryan.co.uk. She is also a TEDx and International Speaker, Coach and Trainer.

Sophie passionately believes that we should all have happier, healthier, more productive and purposeful experiences of work, and this podcast is here to show you how.

A big part of Sophie’s mission is to throw the rule book out and start co-creating what work should look and feel like on a more humanistic level. And you've got to be a bit rebel to do that! So, the Rebel Work Podcast is a platform to share the rebel way with the world, with the intention that our working lives can be ones of fun, significance, value and purpose.

Sometimes Sophie & our guests get super passionate about their topic and therefore, some “passionate” language might crop up! You might want to wear headphones or make sure young ears aren’t around, and if this is not your cuppa tea, this might not be the podcast for you.

  • Joel Lawton: Finding Purpose by Stepping Away from Your Business
    2025/05/10
Lost in the relentless hustle of entrepreneurship? Sophie Bryan sits down with Joel Lawton, who dared to ask: what if the key to your business lies not in pushing harder, but in radically slowing down? Joel shares his personal evolution from the traditional grind to a nature-infused approach that helps entrepreneurs rediscover their purpose. This episode challenges the deep-rooted belief that constant action equals success. Explore:
    • How Joel's journey led him to uncover the power of environment in shifting perspectives.
    • Why "work-life balance" is a myth, and understanding your needs is the real game-changer.
    • The uncomfortable truth: sometimes the most productive thing you can do is stop.
    • The radical idea that prioritising your own sense of being, not just the demands of your business, is the path to true understanding and impact.
If the thought of taking a day off feels like an impossibility, this conversation is a vital wake-up call. It's time to rethink everything.
