  • The Miami Hurricanes face FAMU - Jordan Lyle News - Cornerback Void - Is Dabo Done? Episode - 153
    2026/09/10

Cam did the unthinkable and left The Beast to his own devices this week. It's ok, BTBL (Brian The Beast London) knows how to fly solo and brings you the preview you need for Miami and FAMU.

We got word just before the show that Jordan Lyle may have his status change as legal news came in. The Beast tells you about that as well as tells you who you might see lining up at CB with OJ Frederique, Jr. out after a major, possibly season-ending, shoulder injury ended his night in Palo Alto. We also need to see more from the OLine by way of run blocking to Mr. Fletcher and company can have a better night on the ground.

The Marching 100 will be in town and The Frost Band of the Hour has promised they have adopted some Marching 100 techniques to improve their performance. Cam and The Beast will be the judge of that from the press box on Thursday night.

There is always a lot of college football news to talk about. From the SEC threatening to throw LSU out of the conference (was never going to happen ...hello $$$$$) to Dabo possibly being in his last season at Clemson. Oh, and some jackass left Miami off his Top 25 ballot. SMH!

Don't forget to check out all of the great work Cam and his staff do at StateOfTheU.

  • The Miami Hurricanes Beat the Stanford Cardinal 45-6 - The Recap
    2026/09/07

The Miami Hurricanes made the 2,500 mile journey from Miami to Palo Alto to face the Stanford Cardinal and they took care of business in the opening game of the 2026 campaign.

Darian Mensah to Malachi Toney was a thing that was on display all night (until they got some rest late in the game). Malachi set the single-game receiving record, breaking Eddie Brown's record from 1984. Darian Mensah had 400 yards passing and looked almost perfect in his debut in the Orange and Green. The offense was making big play after big play, but the run game left a bit to be desired.

We get into the performance of the offensive line. Will there be changes going into the FAMU game upfront? How did Jackson Cantwell do in his first college game?

The defense was a mixed bag. They kept Stanford out of the end zone, but The Beast and Cam bring you some advanced analytics to show there needs to be some improvement.

Yes we nitpick, but the bottom line is, Miami got the job done in convincing fashion against a Power 4 school. Now on to FAMU, and the Marching 100!

Please don't forget to check out all of the great work that Cam and his staff do at State of The U.

  • Miami Hurricanes vs Stanford Preview - Season Predictions - A'mir Sears is FIRE ! - Episode 152
    2026/09/01

We made it! The offseason is over. The pointless time-killing debates can stop, and all of the opinions from the talking heads can be thrown aside.

The Miami Hurricanes will start their 2026 campaign in Palo Alto against the Stanford Cardinal. Cam and The Beast have your game preview with all of the important matchups. Stanford has already played a game, beating Hawaii. The Canes will be traveling 6 hours west (maybe less depending on the head winds), and take on Stanford on The Farm on Friday night.

What story lines are we thinking about as the season starts? There are tons of positive story lines, but are their any concerns we have? We give it all to you.

In segment two, the boys give you their game prediction and season prediction. But, before they dish out their predictions, they tell you about a Canes' recruit unlike any other. His name is A'mir Sears, and if you haven't watched his highlights, do it HERE.

  • Miami Hurricanes Training Camp comes to an end and Cam Vaughn and Jordan Lyle Saga - Ep 151
    2026/08/24

As the Canes come to the close of fall camp, the entire world wants to talk about who will be WR3. We do cover this, but there are other storylines to consider, notably OL, LB, and K. We break those down and more.

The Beast wants to talk about off-the-field issues and sort of catches Cam off guard. Instead of pausing to let Cam catch up on what he missed, he wants to power through and "DO IT LIVE."

Was Cam Vaughn told to exit stage right because of his attitude towards the WR depth chart, or did his arrest for reckless driving have something to do with it? What kind of punishment might Jordan Lyle face for his arrest? Will he be available for game 1?

As always, please check out the great work of Cam and his staff at State of The U.

  • Mario Cristobal Signs and Extension-Miami Hurricanes Training Camp Week 1 Break Down - Should Miami Join Notre Dame as an Independent? - Episode 150
    2026/08/09

Firstly, we apologize for Cam's audio. We tried to fix it many times, but the gremlins got the better of us.

Cam and The Beast dig into the first week of the Miami Hurricanes' first week of fall camp. Of course, the first topic has to be the contract extension that Mario Cristobal signed. More Years. More Money. Donation back to the school. This is all good!

Then it's some position talk, as The Beast tells you he is not a fan of the minutiae of camp, but secretly pays attention to all of it. We start with the DBs. They have a chance to be elite. The depth is there. And could OJ Frederique turn into a shutdown corner?

The O-line has a huge upside. Samson Okunlola has been impressing and has been playing left tackle. Could Jackson Cantwell actually start at guard? We don't think so, but one never knows.

Darian Mensah is playing like QB 1 and is now fully programmed to give us QB Speak. We like it.

In Segment 2, The Beast gets radical. Brian lays out the path forward for Miami to regain its independence as a college football program. Forget the SEC. Forget the Big 10. We don't need your stinking Badgers. Someone get on the horn to Netflix or Amazon or Apple.

Finally, Michael Irvin is helping Mamma Fletcher get to every game. She still won't fly, so why not arrive in style in her own customized RV? Oh, and is Fetching Fletchers the best name for a reality video series?

Please go check out the great work of Cam and his staff at State Of The U.

  • A'mir Sears Is a Miami Hurricane - The Defense will be good - College Football News - Episode 149
    2026/08/02

On this episode of the ROCPOD, Cam and The Beast bring you everything you need to know about Columbus two-way player A'mir Sears after he committed to the Canes on Friday afternoon. Cam explains why this young man is the get of the decade. The Beast brings up that Number 1 recruiting class from '08 and why this class, with FIVE 5-Star players in it, will be different.

We know this Hurricanes' offense will be next-level, but do not think this defense is going to slack off just because 3 and 4 are gone.

Btw, have you seen the latest pics of our Canes? They are jacked to the next level. Evidently, the work put in over the offseason has been legendary.

There is a plethora (Beast's favorite word due to its use in The Three Amigos. And yes, El Guapo did have a plethora of piñatas) of college football stories out there. A judge ruled that all of the players who got to school for the 22-23 academic year get another year of eligibility. Also, a certain former Boston College/FSU QB wants to try to come back. Where might he land? And the SEC and B1G have now signed on to the Protect College Sports Act.

You MUST go check out Cam and his staff's amazing work at StateOfTheU.

  • Why Wasn't Malachi Toney On The Ballot for ACC Preseason Player of The Year - The SEC Sucks - Episode 148
    2026/07/24

Only a few episodes left before we get to talking about real football as the Miami Hurricanes start fall camp on 9/4/2026.

We start this show with the reason why Malachi Toney wasn't on the ballot for ACC Preseason Player of the Year.

Then, we move on to Bryce Fitzgerald moving positions, which seems to bother Canes fans but doesn't bother us.

Some are saying this defense could not possibly be as good as last year's squad with Bain and Messidor and Scott gone, but Cam explains that the sum of the parts that are there should make you feel confident about Coach Heatherman's bunch.

In segment two we take shots at the all mighty SEC. Whether it's their belief that they could exist on their own, or their false sense of superiority, we have had enough with that conference. Also, we think there's too much hype surrounding CJ Carr and Arch Manning.

    This episode is packed!

Don't forget to check out Cam and his staff's great work at StateOfTheU.com.

  • The Miami Hurricanes at ACC Media Days - Mario's New QB Philosophy - New ACC Tie-Breaking Rules - Ep 147
    2026/07/18

On this episode of the ROCPOD, The State of the U's Cam Underwood and The Beast recap the Canes trip to Charlotte and ACC Media Days. Let's just say they were the popular attraction.

We have noticed that Mario Cristobal has been making sure to mention his change in philosophy regarding the Canes QB position. What does this mean for the future of the position?

We love Mark Fletcher. Who Doesn't?

Fans of other teams need to get over the jealousy of Miami's abilities in the transfer portal. If they are so bothered by how much Miami spends on NIL, maybe they should open up their own wallets.

The ACC has decided they don't want another five-loss team winning the conference title. They changed the tie-breaking rules. We applaud them.

Please go check out all of the great work that Cam and his staff do at State Of The U!
