This month I’m releasing season 5, which I’m calling a mini season of 4 episodes that I have recorded over the last couple of years and want to release to you all! With that being said! There will be an episode released each Thursday in July!

Since 2020, I have released 4 seasons and I’ve learned a few things about purpose:

1. Purpose should lead, but not control.

2. Purpose is more fluid than I originally thought. .

3. Don’t make your purpose your identity.

4. Purpose is always tied to helping others.

5. There’s no rush to purpose.

Emma's life shows that retirement doesn't mean that your purpose ends. Ms. Emma shares her journey to starting a nonprofit upon retirement that is changing lives today. Her mission to stop bullying and in her unique style she talks with the bully as well as the victim. This episode shows that it's never too late to pursue something new.

Emma Jones Blackshire's life is a testament to the power of dedication, faith, and education. Born as the 10th child to sharecroppers, Mose and Beatrice Jones, she embraced the wisdom imparted by her parents that: "With God, all things are possible." This belief fueled her academic pursuits and instilled in her a passion for adventure. Her educational journey led her to Grambling State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Speech and Drama, followed by a Master of Arts in Teaching in Business from Louisiana College.

Her adventurous spirit found a new avenue in the United States Army, where she
served for two decades, including a significant period in Bosnia, contributing to
peacekeeping efforts. Upon retiring from military service, Emma's love for family and education guided her back to her hometown, Winnsboro, Louisiana. There, she dedicated over 14 years to teaching JROTC at Franklin Parish high school, shaping the lives of young individuals until her retirement in 2023.
Emma’s commitment to social causes is evident in her founding of Bullying
Report It Please (Bullying RIP), a nonprofit organization aimed at combating
bullying, death by suicide and teen violence.

A proud mother and grandmother, Emma's life is enriched by her family and her active involvement in her church and community. Emma Jones Blackshire stands as an inspiring figure, demonstrating that with perseverance and a heart for service, one can indeed make a significant difference in the world.

On this episode we're talking with Jamar and Denise Smith about the journey to purpose. Both of them knew what they wanted to do from an early age and achieved those dreams. Coincidentally, both of them had a challenge of completing their exams in their profession but that didn't stop them from working in purpose. As a couple, they both explain how their purposes work together and balance each other out.

Jamar and Denise Smith, members of The Word Christian Center, parents of Harmony Grace and Jaylen, founders of Cuts of Wisdom Barbershop, driver for Alexandria Fire Department and Assistant Principal for Rapides Parish School Board. We been together 12 years married for 8.5 years. We enjoying traveling, spending time with family, learning new things, and trying new foods.
