Anthony grew up in rural Illinois in a conservative household shaped by evangelical religion, and spent years quietly suppressing two enormous parts of himself: his sexuality and his gifts. In this episode, Anthony opens up about what it was like to grow up gay and psychic in a cornfield, to pray the gay away, to have his witchy books confiscated at fifteen, and to eventually find his way back to all of it.

We talk about religious trauma, the surprising parallels between coming out of the closet and coming out of the broom cupboard, and how stepping into his authentic self transformed not just his life — but his relationship with his Dad too.
