迫真の演技と、映画のような音響効果で一気に聴いてしまいました。日本人にはわかりづらいかも

英語の勉強と楽しみを兼ねて、ネイティブ向けの英語コンテンツを聴いています。本作『預言』は、ポッドキャスト形式で章を分けたオーディオドラマです。風雲急を告げる現代世界で、黒人女性が聖母マリアとなってイエス・キリストを産むという、ちょっと中二病的な設定のサスペンスドラマです。正直キリスト教的な背景はよくわからないのですが、出演者の迫真の声の演技と、映画のような音響効果に押されて一気に聴いてしまいました。鍵となる預言者や使徒が聖書の逸話をなぞるように現れるので、都度どんな人物なのか調べるとよいでしょう。

Audibleには数えきれないほど英語小説の朗読がありますが、オーディオドラマは制作費用がかかるためか、さほど多くなく、またアメリカン・コミック的な派手な内容のものが多いようにも思います。小説の朗読は、ナレーターの声色次第で素晴らしいコンテンツになりますが、途中で眠くなってしまう作品も多いです(笑)。Audibleには是非様々なタイプのオーディオドラマを提供してくれることを期待しています。
