Welcome to Episode 8 of Somatic Compass. Stacey and Trevor explore the phrase “releasing trauma” and how language matters. What if this phrase creates more shame and confusing? Stacey believes that language matters and when people say they want to release trauma, they usually mean relief. Relief matters. But Stacey thinks the word “release” can sometimes pull us into the wrong relationship with the very way our being and body needs our support. What if we changed the language to trauma “resolution or reorganization”? Jump into this conversation with them about the natural wisdom and physiology of our soma that is inviting us into a spiral journey of healing.
