Three people. Same complaint. Three completely different answers. If I'd treated all three the same way, I'd have helped one of them.
This is the episode that turns the three-floor model into something you can actually use. Structure, chemistry, spirit — you've heard me say your plateau is on the floor nobody's looking at. Today: how to find it.
Each floor leaves a fingerprint. Structure leaves a POSITION — it changes with load and you can point at it. Chemistry leaves a RHYTHM — it keeps a schedule and it quietly dropped your ceiling. Spirit leaves NO PATTERN at all — it survives a stable instrument, and you already know what it is.
And then, at the end, the correction to everything above — including what I got wrong in the first three episodes.
In this episode:
- The three fingerprints, with a real case attached to each one
- Why the more interesting explanation is not more likely to be true
- A partial response is not a diagnosis — the single most expensive mistake in this whole model
- Why the narrow door works: what to do when someone can't hold three floors at once
- Where my framework ends and the laboratory begins — said plainly, in both directions
- Why every practitioner diagnoses from their own floor, including me
- Why your preferred floor MOVES — and where mine has moved after 20 years as the structure person
- Order of operations: red flags first, then the cheapest door — cheapest meaning lowest cost if you're wrong
- The throw, not the catch: five to ten minutes on each floor, every day, done badly
- Why "I am beautiful" fails when you're low, and what to say instead
- Permission to throw the whole thing out on the bad days
THIS WEEK'S PRACTICE — THE THREE-COLUMN AUDIT
Fifteen minutes and one piece of paper. Three columns: Structure, Chemistry, Spirit. List every symptom you've got — including the ones you've stopped counting because they feel like weather. Sort them by fingerprint. Then ask which column is fullest and which is emptiest.
Start with the fullest. Save the emptiest, because that's where the rest of it will be in three weeks.

ONE RULE FROM THIS EPISODE
If it helps and then stalls, don't increase it. Add a floor.
PLEASE GET EVALUATED
Progressive weakness, numbness in the saddle region, bowel or bladder changes, unexplained weight loss, night pain that wakes you, fever with pain, or anything sudden and severe are appointments, not frameworks. Rule out the dangerous thing first, always.
