"She's so easy to work with."

Somewhere along the way, that became your job description. And nobody promotes a job description.

Episode 4 of The Power Within Experience names the cost of being the easy one — the woman who always says yes, absorbs the extra work, and keeps the room comfortable at her own expense.

Economists studied it: when a task that never leads to promotion needed doing, women were 50% more likely than men to volunteer for it — and everyone in the room, men and women alike, was more likely to ask a woman to take it. Not because she was the most capable. Because she'd say yes.

Being agreeable is a trait. Being always available is a pattern — one the room learned it could count on.

Peace that requires your silence is too expensive.

In this episode:
• The difference between being liked and being loaded
• Why the easy yes is a tax nobody bills you for
• This week's practice — the Yes Audit: before every yes, ask "Is this promotable, or just familiar?"

Your power begins when YOU do.

This episode is for the woman who wonders if she’s lost her confidence.

You might say:

“I don’t know what happened to me.”

“I used to speak up.”

“I used to trust myself.”

“I used to walk into a room and not think twice about whether I belonged there.”

But now?

You rehearse the email before you send it or rethink the comment after you make it.

You know the answer but wait to see whether someone else says it first.

You walk into a room, especially the first time in a room, already wondering how you are being perceived.

And after a while, it can begin to feel as though something essential has been lost.

Today, I want to offer you another possibility.

What if you haven’t lost your confidence at all?

What if you simply learned not to trust it? Remember what I said before… patterns that you’ve learned can be unlearned.

If you haven’t taken the Mirror Assessment, this would be a good time:

She just feels Invisible.
