Not that anybody asked but last year we grabbed a pint and took to the stage because we were talking about films we shouldn't admit we enjoyed live on stage at The Cheerful Earful Podcast Festival. It was a fantastic experience and was the first of at least two.. What will make our final Top 3 list this week? Expect The Girl From Ipanema, the surprising apperance of Ian's mum and a good, old fashioned clap-o-meter.

Not that anybody asked but this week we dropped the needle and turned it up to eleven because we're figuring out our Top 3 Needle Drops That Worked Surprisingly Well. Sometimes a director takes a song you've heard a thousand times, sticks it over a scene it has absolutely no business being in, and it becomes impossible to hear it any other way. Which unexpected soundtrack choices turned out to be pure genius? Which ones made a cheerful pop hit deeply sinister, or a fight scene weirdly emotional? What will make our final Top 3 list this week? Expect whipping your tonsils out for someone, the nunchuck of knives and the extent of our NIN knowledge.

Not that anybody asked but this week we're all singing and all dancing. Back in episode 21 (over 2,628,000 minutes ago) we argued our Top 3 "Villains Who Have A Point" and nearly had a momentous falling out as Ian went to bat for Benny from Rent. The debate was never settled, so this week we brought in the man himself. We're joined by the incredible Joaquin Pedro Valdes, newly cast as Benny as Rent returns to the West End for its 30th Anniversary. Expect Shinigami, Shakespearean lions and whether the Scorpions had a point on Thunder Road.

Rent is playing the Tom Stoppard Theatre from the 26th September. You can buy your tickets here.
