  • Slugging, but sloppy: Phillies win 2 of 3 from Arizona
    2025/05/05

The Phillies won two of three from Arizona this weekend at Citizens Bank Park. They have three consecutive series since getting swept in New York late last month. The offense is heating up. It is batting .276 with 13 home runs and an .806 OPS in the last eight games. But physical and mental errors keep popping up, and you wonder what might have happened in Sunday’s series finale if the Phillies played cleaner in the field.

  • Ranger Suárez returns, Taijuan Walker’s last start … for now?
    2025/05/02

The Phillies are 17-14 following Thursday night’s loss to the Nationals. If the season ended today, they’d be tied with Arizona for the third and final NL Wild Card. We talk about where the Phils are, and where they might be going in the coming months.

Where is Taijuan Walker going? He’s probably going to the bullpen, even though he has pitched well in his first six starts. That’s because Ranger Suárez is rejoining the rotation on Sunday. We discuss how the Phillies should handle Suárez and Walker, and who might get bumped from the bullpen to make room for Walker.

They say Delco’s a lot … and they’re right. Find a full list of weekend events at VisitDelco.com, including the Colonial Pennsylvania Farmstead in Newtown Square on Saturday and the 21st annual Lansdowne Arts on the Avenue Festival on Sunday.

  • Madness at the Bank: Phils win wild one vs. Nats
    2025/04/30

    Where do we even start?

The Phillies won an absolutely crazy game on Tuesday night at Citizens Bank Park. They won on their first walk-off wild pitch since April 1993. A Phillies pitcher struck out the side after loading the bases with no outs in the eighth inning or later for the first time since 1968.

There were big hits and big mistakes in the field. We get into everything.

We talk a little Sluggball, too.

  • Phillies, Nola stop the bleeding at Wrigley Field
    2025/04/28

The Phillies bounced back in a major way this weekend against the Cubs at Wrigley Field.

Now, can they build off it?

The Phils lost on Friday, giving them a five-game losing streak and dropping them to .500. But they won the final two games of the series to head home at 15-13. The offense came up big on Saturday, scoring 10 runs. Aaron Nola came up big on Sunday, allowing only one run in seven innings. Ruben, Jim and Todd get into everything good that happened on Saturday and Sunday and what it might mean moving forward.

  • Team USA manager and MLB Network analyst Mark DeRosa talks Phillies
    2025/04/25

MLB Network’s Mark DeRosa is one of baseball’s best analysts. His insights weekdays on “MLB Central” are must-see TV.

DeRosa played college football and baseball at Penn, then spent 16 years in the big leagues. Those experiences brought him to MLB Network, then to twice manage Team USA in the World Baseball Classic, including next year. DeRosa spent time on Thursday with Ruben, Jim and Todd, discussing the Phillies’ slow start and why he isn’t necessarily worried about it. He also talks about trying to recruit Zack Wheeler and Bryce Harper to play for Team USA in next year’s WBC and much more.

DeRosa’s enthusiasm for baseball is contagious. You’ll love this episode.

  • “We’ve just got to be better”: Phillies swept in New York
    2025/04/24

It’s still early, but the Phillies can’t play like this forever.

They need to get going. The Mets swept the Phillies this week at Citi Field. The Phils have lost 10 of their last 16 games. There are plenty of reasons why. The bullpen continues to struggle. There are cracks in the rotation with Aaron Nola 0-5 and Cristopher Sánchez’s left forearm hurting. The offense had just three extra-base hits in the entire series. We drill down on everything that is going wrong for the Phillies right now.

  • Change is good: Cristopher Sánchez is Phillies stopper
    2025/04/18

Cristopher Sánchez became a trendy pick in the spring for a top five NL Cy Young Award finish.

He pitched like one in Thursday’s 6-4 victory over the Giants. He struck out 12 batters, the most by a Phillies left-hander since Cole Hamels struck out 13 in his no-hitter against the Cubs in his final start for the organization in 2015.

We discuss Sánchez’s dominance but also look at the Phillies’ jumbled outfield situation, the upcoming Marlins series and more, including a few of your questions!
