It’s a veritable 1960s double-header as The Outdated Entertainment Hour podcast welcomes two esteemed guests: Leading off is one of the nation’s top cinema biographers, James Curtis, who recently issued the hot-selling book Comedy Is A Grim Business: The Making Of It’s A Mad Mad Mad Mad World, the blockbuster big-budget 1963 film that was among the biggest sensations of its era. This lengthy, chaotic comedy filled movie houses and was the talk of its time – and Curtis discusses its cultural impact like only he can. Following the fascinating Curtis is fellow author Brian R. Solomon, who sits down with Bob Smith as they choose their favorite comedy films of the decade of the 1960s.
