‫וירא העם כי בשש משה לרדת מן ההר ויקהל העם על אהרן ויאמרו אליו קום ׀ עשה לנו אלהים אשר ילכו לפנינו כי זה ׀ משה האיש אשר העלנו מארץ מצרים לא ידענו מה היה לו׃‬

‫לא ראו איש את אחיו ולא קמו איש מתחתיו שלשת ימים ולכל בני ישראל היה אור במושבתם׃‬

People could not see one another, and for three days no one could move about; but all the Israelites enjoyed light in their dwellings.

וַיְדַבֵּר מֹשֶׁה כֵּן אֶל־בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְלֹא שָׁמְעוּ אֶל־מֹשֶׁה מִקֹּצֶר רוּחַ וּמֵעֲבֹדָה קָשָׁה׃
