• Justin Buonomo on The Hidden Reason You Feel Stuck Spiritually
    2026/05/13
In this episode, I’m joined by Justin Buonomo, the owner and creator of Journey to Financial Freedom (JFF)—but what we get into goes way beyond money. After coming off one of the hardest and most refining seasons of my life, this conversation hit deep. Justin and I unpack what it really looks like to follow Jesus when things don’t make sense—when suffering shows up, when prayers feel unanswered, and when you’re forced to confront the parts of your heart you’d rather ignore. We talk about:The role of suffering as God’s refining processHow sin and shame quietly hold you back from who you’re called to beWhy many believers misunderstand God’s heart—especially around money and worthinessWhat it actually looks like to walk in freedom, not just talk about itAnd the one big thing Justin is learning right now: how to break free from shame by fully accepting what happened on the crossThis isn’t a surface-level conversation. It’s honest, raw, and rooted in the reality that following Jesus will stretch you, break you, and ultimately rebuild you into who you were meant to be.If you’ve been wrestling with shame, feeling stuck, or trying to make sense of a hard season—this one’s for you.📖 Book Reference - He Loves Me! • Waiting on God’s Timing: My Story of Faith, Provision & Trust in Hard Seasons | Steve Campbell
    2026/04/29

This brand new episode is a little different. It's been three months since I've recorded an episode and I felt the need to share my story and what God's done. There’s no guest joining me today—just me, speaking directly to you from the heart.

Over the last few months, my family and I walked through one of the hardest and most humbling seasons of our lives. After stepping away from a career I thought would be my long-term security, I found myself in a place of uncertainty, no paycheck, closed doors, and more questions than answers.

What followed was a season where God taught me how to truly wait on Him… not just say I trusted Him, but actually trust Him when I couldn’t see the outcome. He stripped away pride, fear, identity in work, and the need to control everything—and showed me what real provision looks like.

In this episode, I’m opening up about the internal battles I faced, the moments I wanted to quit, and the unexpected ways God showed up for our family right on time. I’m also sharing how this season changed my faith, my perspective, and my understanding of what it means to surrender.

If you’re in a waiting season right now… if doors have closed… if life feels uncertain… I hope my story reminds you that God has not forgotten you.

My One Big Thing: Sometimes God delays what we want so He can develop who we’re becoming.

🎙️ In this episode, I share:

    • What happened when I stepped away from my career
    • The struggle of waiting when nothing makes sense
    • How God provided in ways I never expected
    • Why suffering can produce deeper faith
    • Letting go of control and trusting God’s timing
    • What I learned about identity beyond success

This is one of the most personal episodes I’ve ever recorded, and I’m grateful you’re here to listen.

  • What Jesus Is Teaching Us Through Suffering — with Jake Kauffman
    2026/04/15

This episode marks a brand-new chapter for The One Big Thing. From here on out, every conversation will center on faith — on what Jesus is teaching us in this season of life.

I couldn’t think of a better person to start this new direction with than my friend Jake Kauffman.

Jake and I go deep on something that every believer eventually faces: the role of suffering and dependence in our walk with Jesus. We talk about what it means to trust God when life unravels, why true transformation often comes through pain, and how the wilderness seasons of life can actually draw us closer to Him.

You’ll hear Jake share his story of loss, healing, and renewal — and how God met him in the middle of it. We explore what spiritual maturity really looks like, the beauty of surrender, and why God’s favor often shows up in ways we don’t expect.

If you’re walking through a hard season or wondering where God is in the middle of your struggle, I want you to know — you’re not alone. God’s not done with you. Your story is still being written.

Listen in and be encouraged — Jesus is at work in your life too.

  • What True Discipleship Looks Like - with Paul Hassell
    2026/02/11

In this episode of The One Big Thing, I sit down with my friend Paul Hassell for one of the deepest and most challenging conversations I’ve had on this show. We talk honestly about discipleship — not as a church buzzword or an occasional coffee meeting, but as a way of life that actually shapes how we follow Jesus.

Paul shares how being truly discipled later in life changed everything for him, and why many believers feel like something is missing in their faith journey. We challenge the idea of comfortable Christianity and talk about what it means to live with intentionality, risk, and obedience — learning to represent Jesus in the world the way He intended.

This conversation stirred me personally. If you’ve ever felt like your walk with Jesus has stalled, or you love Him but sense there’s more, this episode may help you identify what’s been missing. We talk about spiritual disciplines, living out the Great Commission, and why discipleship is less about information and more about transformation.

My prayer is that this episode doesn’t just encourage you — but challenges you to take your next step with Jesus.

Listen in and ask yourself: what is the One Big Thing God is inviting you into right now?________________________________
