• Slowing Down to Hear God’s Voice — with Andy Mason of Heaven in Business
    2025/12/03

In this episode of The One Big Thing, I sit down with my friend Andy Mason, founder of Heaven in Business, to talk about what it really means to walk with God — not just at church, but in every part of life.

Andy shares his incredible story of hearing God’s call to leave everything behind in New Zealand and start over in the United States. We talk about how to trust God when the next step isn’t clear, how to slow down enough to actually hear His voice, and what it means to live with a mandate that’s bigger than yourself.

This conversation reminded me that God moves at the pace of relationship — slow enough for us to walk beside Him. Whether you’re waiting on direction, wrestling with purpose, or learning how to yield control, this episode will encourage you to trust God’s timing and believe that He’s still leading you.

Listen in and be reminded: you’re not behind — you’re right where God needs you to be.

Andy is the founder and director of Heaven in Business, showing people how to integrate faith that multiplies business success. This has led to the development of curriculum in Bethel’s School of Supernatural Ministry, workshops, courses and conferences, an online learning platform, and a growing community of men and women around the world whose lives demonstrate an authentic walk and work with God. • What Jesus Is Teaching Us Through Suffering — with Jake Kauffman
    2025/11/19

This episode marks a brand-new chapter for The One Big Thing. From here on out, every conversation will center on faith — on what Jesus is teaching us in this season of life.

I couldn’t think of a better person to start this new direction with than my friend Jake Kauffman.

Jake and I go deep on something that every believer eventually faces: the role of suffering and dependence in our walk with Jesus. We talk about what it means to trust God when life unravels, why true transformation often comes through pain, and how the wilderness seasons of life can actually draw us closer to Him.

You’ll hear Jake share his story of loss, healing, and renewal — and how God met him in the middle of it. We explore what spiritual maturity really looks like, the beauty of surrender, and why God’s favor often shows up in ways we don’t expect.

If you’re walking through a hard season or wondering where God is in the middle of your struggle, I want you to know — you’re not alone. God’s not done with you. Your story is still being written.

Listen in and be encouraged — Jesus is at work in your life too.

  • Keri Ford on Boundaries, Burnout, and Becoming Whole
    2025/11/05

What happens when success on the outside doesn’t match the peace you crave on the inside?

In this episode of The One Big Thing Podcast, I sit down with my friend and powerhouse leader, Keri Ford. Keri works with high-impact leaders, entrepreneurs, and parents to help them rewire their nervous systems, set healthy boundaries, and reclaim presence in a world that constantly demands more.

We dive into the hidden cost of always being “on,” the struggle of raising kids in a tech-saturated culture, and the weight leaders carry when their identity gets wrapped up in what they do instead of who they are. Keri doesn’t just share big-picture ideas—she gives us practical guardrails: no phones at the dinner table, paying attention to what we consume, and learning to ask better questions to truly connect with those around us.

If you’ve ever felt stretched thin by technology, distracted from the people that matter most, or caught chasing success that doesn’t satisfy, this conversation is for you.

Because at the end of the day, it’s not about being perfect—it’s about being present.

One Big Thing: Protect your input. Guard your mind, your time, and your presence—because the world needs the most authentic version of you.

  • Jabari Davis on Pivoting After Football
    2025/10/22

On this episode of The One Big Thing Podcast, I sit down with Jabari Davis, former University of Tennessee running back (2001–2004) and the man fans still call The J-Train, Big Juice, and The Gator Killer. While his highlight reels and touchdowns against Florida made him a Tennessee legend, what inspires me most is the work he’s doing now to make an impact far beyond the gridiron.

Jabari opens up about the highs of playing in Neyland Stadium, the lows of dealing with injury and depression, and the faith and family that helped him find purpose again. We talk about his transition from football to launching the Legends of Tennessee nonprofit, where he’s empowering the next generation through sports, mentorship, education, and youth mental health programs

    In this conversation, you’ll learn:

    • How to bounce back when life doesn’t go according to plan.
    • Why your legacy isn’t defined by stats, but by the lives you touch.
    • The importance of gratitude, community, and mentorship in building a meaningful life.
    • How sports can teach lessons far greater than the game itself.

Jabari’s deep love for coaching kids and his community drives his mission to foster positive change and inspire the next generation to reach their full potential. He believes that investing in youth today creates stronger, more resilient communities tomorrow.

  • Eric Chiofalo on Navigating the Death of Charlie Kirk and Impact on His Faith
    2025/09/24

This week on The One Big Thing Podcast, I sit down with my friend Eric Chiofalo — a husband, dad to three little girls, and sports radio host at 105.3 The Fan in Dallas.

If you’ve followed my journey, you know how much the Dallas Cowboys have always meant to me because of my dad. So having Eric on — someone I’ve admired from a distance — was really special. But this conversation went far deeper than sports.

Eric opened up about what’s been a heavy season for him following the shocking assassination of Charlie Kirk — someone he admired as a man of faith, a husband, and a father. We talked about the raw emotions of grief, the anger that’s bubbled up watching people celebrate tragedy, and what it looks like to keep our hearts aligned with God in the middle of heartbreak.

    We dove into:

    • Wrestling with anger and choosing grace instead
    • How studying the Bible has reshaped Eric’s perspective on forgiveness
    • Building a daily rhythm of prayer, scripture, and honest conversations with God
    • Balancing public influence with private integrity — especially when the mic goes off
    • Learning to die to self as a husband and father, and bouncing back when we fall short

This wasn’t just a conversation about faith — it was about being human. About being men who are trying to raise families, steward our platforms well, and not lose sight of who we are in the process.

Eric’s honesty and humility reminded me that even in the public eye, we’re all just people trying to do our best, mess up less, and love well. My prayer is that this episode encourages you to keep going, to stay rooted, and to trust that God can use even the darkest moments to awaken something powerful in us.

If this episode stirs something in you, share it with a friend who might need it. And as always, thank you for listening to The One Big Thing Podcast.
