The first commercial film ever shot entirely on IMAX, and it earns every frame of that scale. Matt Damon carries this movie on his back, leading a stacked ensemble through Nolan's near-perfect vision of Homer's epic — Robert Pattinson quietly gives the best performance in the film as the suitor Antinous, John Leguizamo is devastating as the loyal, half-blind Eumaeus, and Elliot Page's Sinon, Himesh Patel's Eurylochus, Samantha Morton's Circe, and Charlize Theron's Calypso all land. Nolan tells the Sack of Troy three separate times across the film, each retelling peeling back more of the cost of how they actually won.
Robbie caught the 7:45am 70mm screening at Harkins Arizona Mills with his wife Amy. One of the most well-paced and intense films he's seen, period.
