Discover the heartwarming 10-minute film “The Name for Blue,” following bus driver Eddy Martinez as he transforms his daily route into a canvas of human connection—learning every rider’s name, radiating love and clarity, and turning ordinary commutes into extraordinary moments. Filmmaker Marc Havener captured it all in three days of intimate filming, revealing humor, drama, and romance unfolding on the Lawrence Transit line. Celebrate this touching story at “Art in Motion: An Evening of Film, Poetry & Transit” this Saturday, September 19th, at the Lawrence Arts Center—free admission, poetry, city remarks, Q&A with Eddy and Marc, refreshments, free downtown bus rides, and transit art exhibits. A beautiful tribute to everyday heroes and the power of seeing people by name.
