  • S2E14 From Grief to Joy with Alexia Love
    2026/08/21

For the first time in the history of this podcast, we are super excited to welcome our first ever guest onto the show: our wonderful and inspiring friend Alexia Love.

Alexia is a former Clinical Dental Director and flying dentist turned unicorn, mermaid, and self expression queen. After spending years serving Indigenous communities around the world, she swapped the dental drill for giant white unicorn wings, biodegradable BioGlitter, bags of “unicorn poo”, and a self confessed holy grail search for the kindest glitter on Earth. She is now a passionate advocate and ambassador for environmentally conscious glitter, bringing wonder, joy, and a little mischief to festivals and events wherever her wings can carry her and her mermaid tail can swim.

As founder of House of Higher Heart and a full time carer to her disabled son, Alexia’s life sits at the intersection of magic and reality, where grief meets joy, caregiving meets freedom, and self expression becomes a spiritual practice. She believes self expression is medicine, imagination is sacred, and that the world could use a little more heartfelt joy, innocence, and of course, glitter.

In this perspective-shifting conversation, we dive into the magical healing power of self-expression, the importance of integrating grief into your joy, and how one person can provide inspiration for everyone around them just by being audaciously true to herself!

  • S2E13 The Meaning Crisis and the Return of the Sacred
    2026/07/26

What happens when the stories that once gave our lives meaning begin to fall apart? As traditional religion has faded and faith has shifted toward science, consumerism, and technology, many people are finding themselves disoriented by a world that no longer feels capable of holding them.

In this episode, we explore whether humanity is entering a new relationship with the idea of God. Not as a return to old religious dogma, but as the emergence of a deeper way of being. We discuss the collapse of the narratives that have shaped modern society, the search for meaning in an age of social media echo chambers and political polarisation, and the possibility that the "second coming" is not the return of an individual, but the awakening of collective consciousness itself.

We ask whether God is in fact simply a way of life; eternal being; a location of unified souls. And whether this approach to God can offer the peace that all the lost people who have been spat out by the consumerist machine, truly need.

  • S2E12 Is Desire a Sin? Consumer culture, soul callings and morality
    2026/06/02

According to Buddhism, desire is suffering—a yearning for something other than what is here in this moment. But desire can also bring passion, meaning, creativity, and direction. So how do we tell the difference between egoic craving and authentic soul desire?

In this episode, we explore the tension between the desires that drain and numb us, and the deeper callings that strengthen, enliven, and align us with who we really are. We reflect on addiction, temptation, spiritual surrender, and the idea that asking for help—from community, from God, from something beyond ourselves—can reconnect us to inner strength when willpower alone isn’t enough.

Along the way, we question whether modern consumer culture has normalised the very impulses once described as the seven deadly sins, creating a cycle of stress, escapism, and disconnection. Ultimately, this conversation is about learning to discern which desires diminish us, which desires awaken us, and how to listen more deeply to the soul beneath the noise.

Featuring recurring references to the iconic 90s anthem Freed from Desire by Gala - go check it out, what a banger.
