What if the thing changing the way you move through life isn’t a mountain at all… but something small you’ve simply gotten used to carrying?
In this episode of Challenge Accepted with Jonah C., The Moveable Pebble, I share the story of a walk through Waikiki, Oahu with my son Zack that started with a literal pebble in my shoe and turned into something much bigger.
What began as a small annoyance became a conversation about procrastination, overwhelm, adaptation, avoidance, and the ways we sometimes learn to live around discomfort instead of resolving what’s actually causing it.
As Zack and I talked, we began connecting the metaphor to everyday life: the conversation we keep postponing, the task we keep moving, the issue we keep managing, and the small problems that quietly pile up until they begin to feel much bigger than they ever were on their own.
This episode also became something especially meaningful to me because it was the first time Zack and I truly co-created and co-wrote an episode together.
Whether you’re looking to grow personally, become more intentional professionally, strengthen your relationships, or become a more self-aware leader, The Moveable Pebble challenges us to examine what we’ve become skilled at accommodating—and whether temporary relief has been mistaken for actual resolution.
Because maybe the question isn’t always:
“How do I keep moving?”
Maybe sometimes it’s:
“What is changing the way I’m walking in the first place?”
