Episode Description:
The Mountain Top Experience Podcast - Ep. 59. - Retiring Into a Ministry of Support with Sharon Cramer
Retirement didn't mean stepping away from ministry for Sharon Cramer. It meant discovering a new way to serve.
Sharon joins hosts Kevin Ostromecki and Dave Johnson to share her testimony of retiring to care for her husband, Bill, through cancer and later Lewy body dementia, which eventually led to his death. She talks candidly about caregiving, losing Bill, walking through her own grief, and the recovery that followed and how her sorrow moved her closer to God.
Out of those experiences grew a ministry of support for others. Today, Sharon serves as a lay minister at New Ridge Fellowship, where she leads the church's GriefShare program and provides continued support after participants complete the program.
Sharon's story is a testimony of how God can use our own experiences of loss and healing to prepare us to walk alongside others when they need someone who understands.
