This week on The Motor Crew, we're talking convertibles, questionable decisions, and some of the best enthusiast cars you can still buy without completely draining your bank account.

We kick things off with inventory at Kasser Motor Group. The 2022 M4 Competition in Tanzanite Blue over Kyalami has officially sold, along with the killer 997 Carrera S. The 1992 600SL is headed to Bring a Trailer, while the GMC Sierra 2500 Denali, Voodoo Blue 991.2 Carrera 4S Cabriolet, and a beautiful 993 Cabriolet remain available. As always, we're looking to buy the right cars.

At Service House of Precision, we check in on what's moving through the shop this week and what projects have everyone's attention.

We also follow up on last week's Red Flag Car of the Week, the 1989 Porsche 928 S4 5 speed. Despite all the reasons to be nervous, it sold for $30,000, proving once again that enthusiasts will always find a way to justify questionable decisions.

That brings us to this week's Red Flag Car of the Week: a 2001 Mercedes-Benz CL500 listed for just $4,777. At that price, it's hard not to start making excuses. Unfortunately, timing chains, suspension issues, and old luxury car maintenance don't care how cheap the purchase price was.

Then we discuss what may be Tony Kasser's dream daily driver: a one of one Porsche Cayenne convertible conversion. Ridiculous? Absolutely. But after a wheel swap and a few cosmetic changes, is it actually kind of cool? We spend far too much time debating whether we'd drive it.

As always, we dive into a few bargain roadsters and enthusiast cars that caught our attention this week, proving that some of the most enjoyable automotive experiences still don't require six figure budgets.

Thank you to our sponsor, Main Line Dental Club. They're redefining dental care with a membership based model that skips traditional insurance and focuses on transparency, comfort, and quality care. Their Paoli office is built around patient experience, with TVs above every chair and a full comfort menu including things like weighted blankets and noise canceling headphones. If you've been putting off the dentist, this is the place to change that. Check them out and tell them the Motor Crew sent you.

Ferrari for Prius Money | The Motor Crew | 05.21.26

This week on The Motor Crew, we dive into questionable decisions, wild auction results, and the kinds of cars that make absolutely no sense… which usually means we want them even more.

We kick things off with inventory at Kasser Motor Group. Current lineup includes a 1992 600SL, GMC Sierra 2500 Denali, a 991.2 Carrera 4S Cabriolet in Voodoo Blue, a 2022 M4 Competition in Tanzanite Blue over Kyalami, plus a killer 997 Carrera S and 993 Cabriolet in full Crable Spec© form. As always, we're looking to buy the right cars.

At Service House of Precision, we check in on what's happening around the shop this week.

Then we introduce the newest recurring segment… Red Flag Car of the Week. Myles brings a 1989 Porsche 928 S4 5 speed on Bring a Trailer to the table. Clean example, rare manual, and potentially an absolute nightmare. We break down why cars like this are simultaneously terrible ideas and impossible to ignore, then place our bets on where the auction will end.

We also revisit some recent auction results, including a one owner 2011 Mercedes Benz C63 AMG that sold for just $23,750 and a manual 2012 BMW 135i that hammered at $10,100. We compare the two and debate which one is the better enthusiast buy right now.

Then we stumble across one of the coolest random finds of the week. A right hand drive Japanese market Volvo 850R wagon sitting in Woodstown, New Jersey. Swedish wagon. Turbo. RHD. Enough said.

We also talk about Stellantis continuing to completely lose their minds in the best way possible with the return of Hemi powered "Rumble Bee" trucks, including a 770 horsepower Hellcat version capable of 170 mph. Naturally, we have opinions.

To wrap things up, we discuss the latest Mecum Indy auction results and why prices on certain enthusiast cars just keep climbing.

This week on The Motor Crew, we ask a dangerous question… what exotic are you buying for the price of a new Prius?

We kick things off with inventory at Kasser Motor Group. Current lineup includes a 1992 600SL, 2001 SL500, GMC Sierra 2500 Denali, a 991.2 Carrera 4S Cabriolet in Voodoo Blue, and a 2022 M4 Competition in Tanzanite Blue over Kyalami. On the way in, a killer 997 Carrera S and a 993 Cabriolet in what we're calling Crable Spec. As always, we're looking to buy the right cars.

At Service House of Precision, we check in on what's going on in the shop this week.

Then we get into our Irrational Desire of the Week. A 1985 Ferrari Mondial Quattrovalvole that checks every box for a potential bad decision. Cheap Ferrari? Questionable history? Weird spec? Some electrical stories? It's the perfect Red Flag Special. The kind of car that makes no sense… but you can't stop thinking about it.

That leads into the Motor Crew Challenge. If you had about 45k, what exotic are you buying? No Porsches allowed. The answers get interesting fast.

We also touch on the Lotus Emira moving toward a new hybrid drivetrain, and whether that shift takes away from what made the car appealing in the first place.

In What We Like This Week, we follow up on a few auctions. The Miata swapped MGB GT sold for $29,500 and still feels like a steal. A 2010 CL63 AMG with the naturally aspirated 6.2 liter V8 went for just $22,500, which raises some serious questions about value. We also review our Bring a Trailer bets on a 1999 Porsche 911 Carrera… and all of us were high. Hammer price came in at $41,500.

We also look ahead at a one owner 2011 C63 AMG and a manual 2012 BMW 135i and debate which one makes more sense as an entry level performance car.

And then… the shocker. A 2006 Ferrari F430 that hammered for $485,000. Yes, really. We try to make sense of it.
