A panel of leading writers discuss writing for both live performance and for the screen. They dive into how to best approach writing for screen, tips on adapting your practice to balance writing for both mediums and how the commissioning process works for both theatre, film and TV.

Development. A word we hear a lot but what does it actually mean?!... This panel with development producers and assistants from top production companies unpacks all things TV development - from pitches to production. There's discussion on how to approach producers & production companies, what to expect from funded development and how writers can best market their projects for screen development.

For this panel, we assembled three artists who have moved seamlessly between theatre and screen work - finding new ways of telling stories and working across both stage, TV and Film. If you're looking for practical advice of how to transition between live performance and screen content and how to adapt your work for both mediums, then give this a listen!

Seven ethnically diverse writers from our PLAYSTART alumni were each commissioned to write a bold new monologue. Each writer was allocated a leading industry playwright mentor - Lucy Prebble, Alice BIrch, Inua Ellams, Nathaniel Martello-White, Bijan Shebani, Theresa Ikoko and Duncan Macmillan.  

The Monologues were filmed on the stages of 7 London theatres - The Almeida, Bush Theatre, Soho Theatre , Lyric Hammersmith Theatre, Arcola Theatre, Southwark Playhouse and Young Vic.

There is another chance to watch monologue films streaming on Thursday 1st July 7.30pm (available until Saturday 3rd July 9pm).
