Happy Canada Day Everyone! We hope you're chillin' and enjoying yourselves. If you're looking for some Canadian entertainment for the day, give us a listen! We build you a fantastic driving playlist if you feel like taking a tour down one of our highways. We have some awesome Canadian movie recommendations if you feel like hiding out in the air conditioning and share some Canuck TV memories and give a few suggestions that would work for that too. Both of us build fantasy Canadian music festivals that we would love to be attending if it wasn't for COVID-19. Finally we end with talking about our most beloved Canadian band, and why we love them so goddamn much.

We wish you Canada Day celebrations befitting this beautiful and inspiring place we're from!

This is the review show. In it we review the Netflix original Extraction, I let everyone know what to expect from the resource management survival game, Stranded Deep. For it's 30th anniversary, K sings the praises for Good Omens, and we both have a little something to say about Meredith Quill's Complete Awesome Mix, the James Gunn Spotify playlist made up of the unused music that was considered for Guardians of the Galaxy flicks. Enjoy.

We’re bringing you a whole whack of Star Wars news: even more Mandalorian on its way, some great Cassian Andor (Rogue One) series casting, the shapers of the Obi Wan series have been announced, & we discuss a new series announcement that’s resulting in some ridiculous internet bs. There’s a new comic set in Firefly ‘verse on it’s way, that has us soaring like a leaf on the wind. We share some exciting new series that are being adapted for TV, as well as giving you our picks on what’s new to streaming platforms. New game arrivals and announcements abound too and T talks Last of Us 2, Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, and more. We let you know about some of the wonderful things that happened in May’s pop culture history from Dracula to Betty White, and we both get between the covers for our Guilty Pleasure and Hidden Treasure, as K talks Sookie Stackhouse, a novel series about vampires & fairies & weres (oh my) and T discusses We Stand On Guard from a very talented writer and Ottawa native.

Annnnnd here’s a new episode just for you! We share some news announcements including upcoming tech, an album release, livestream show, casting, and a virtual film festival that’s opening with a film about a lovely group of dancing dudes from the Maritimes called The Bhangra Boys. One tidbit that surfaced has K SUPER stoked. There are a fair amount of streaming suggestions too, from a star-studded drama to a LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special (no no, not THAT one).
T reviews Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order as it showed up on Game Pass. Much to our chagrin, we continue to be unimpressed with season 2 of The Mandalorian, and share the whys of that. The Simon Says assignments had K sampling Mike Tyson Mysteries and T sharing his thoughts on the Good Omens limited series.

We tell you why psychologists think taking trips down pop culture memory lane is good for your mental health and take a little journey of our own back to the days of compilation CDs like Frosh and Big Shiny Tunes.
Our last segment is one of our most favourite, Hidden Treasures and Guilty Pleasures. T tells us why folk have been wrong to pan the sci-fi war film Battle: Los Angeles, and K talks about one of her favourite humorous novels (and novelists), a perfectly apt-for-the-season read, The Stupidest Angel by Christpher Moore.
One of the things we love to do most is to give independent artists a chance to share their work, and so we finish the recording off with Cevilain’s awesome cover of Miley Cyrus’ Midnight Sky (thanks guys!).

    We hope you enjoy!
