The Missing Links Golf Show follows two guys in their early 50s with plenty of life experience, unfinished business, and one ambitious goal: to qualify for and compete in the NSW Amateur Senior Golf Championship. Each week, Steve and Andy share the highs, the lows, and the lessons from their pursuit of better golf. But this isn't just a golf podcast. It's about what happens when you decide you're not done yet. From practice sessions and tournament rounds to sports psychology, coaching, equipment, and the mental battles we all face, they explore how the game reflects life—and how the lessons learned away from the course can make you a better golfer. Whether you're chasing a lower handicap, a bigger goal, or simply proof that your best days aren't behind you, this is the journey for you.© 2026 The Missing Links Golf Show ゴルフ 個人的成功 自己啓発

    2026/09/01

Sometimes the biggest breakthrough in golf isn't a swing change or a new club. Sometimes it's simply learning to play the shot you're actually playing.

Andy Walker heads to the Penrith Senior Amateur with a different approach. After a frustrating run of golf and plenty of swing changes, the goal is simple: stay in the round, enjoy the day and take it one shot at a time.

And for once, the golf starts to look very different.

There are good drives, impressive recoveries, questionable decisions and the usual reminders that golf is still golf. But the real breakthrough comes between the shots, as Andy catches himself getting ahead of the game and brings his thoughts back to the present without judgement.

There's also the small matter of Mick Patterson's formal appeal to the Missing Links Championship Committee over his exclusion from the July Dice of Truth playoff. Naturally, the committee delivers a completely fair and entirely sensible ruling.

It's an episode about good golf, better thinking and discovering what happens when you stop trying to play the whole round at once.

    One shot. Then the next.

  • Ep. 136 The Velocity of Your Game
    2026/08/19

Andy Walker heads back to one of his old junior stomping grounds for the Mollymook Senior Amateur — and discovers that while the scorecard says 79, the story is considerably more positive.

After a week of preparation, some last-minute advice from former LPGA Tour player Wendy Doolan and a promising range session, Andy arrives at Mollymook feeling confident. Then the nerves kick in. There are snap hooks, unlucky bounces, slow greens, a cricket-ball-quality collision with a course stake and a few questionable club-selection decisions.

But there are also plenty of signs that the game is moving in the right direction.

The boys dig into why the score isn't always the best measure of how well you've played, the importance of staying in the fight when things aren't going your way, and their favourite concept of the "velocity" of your game — not just where your game is, but the direction and speed in which it's moving.

There's also a deep dive into putting. Andy discusses his new putter, why he's finally starting to feel confident over longer putts, and the fascinating discovery that what your eyes tell you about your putting alignment may not be what is actually happening.

And, naturally, there are some important questions:

    Why didn't Andy hit driver?

    What exactly constitutes a "stinger"?

And how many times can you hit a snap hook before you finally admit there's a problem?

The episode finishes with some exciting news: Andy has entered three more senior amateur events, all qualifiers for the NSW Senior Open.

    The pilgrimage continues.
